If I am reading these right, and I like to think I am. If we run the ball every play we should be faced with a very manageable 4th and less than a yard but if we throw it we should get a first down on each completion. ;)

No, I don't think so. Those are "averages" that at are skewed by the long 75-yd TD and 61-yd TD. The median yards per play is far lower.

Not going to lie, I failed Grade 11 Algebra so mean/median/mode is WAY over my head.

Average yards per carry is NET rushing yards divided by number of carries; thus:

Nguyen 2.9 yards/carry
Calhoun 4.2 yards/carry
Favors 6.6 yards/carry

Data should be copied and pasted from GoGriz.com instead of reinvented.

I know average yards per carry is net rushing yards divided by number of carries, thus:
That is why I got all 3 of 3 correct in in the above Cal Poly game stats, and 3 of 5 correct in the season total stats below in my post. (You said I got Favors wrong, but I did not, 6.6 is what I have)

Thanks for appreciating the time I took to type this up in a readable manner, albeit with 2 minor mistakes that I will drop everything now to correct. Nguyen from 3.2 to 2.9 season avg, Calhoun from 4.6 to 4.2 season avg. Sorry for committing such atrocities.

By the way, I did copy and paste from GoGriz, com. But this is the mess it pastes:

Which is easier to read, just pasting from GoGriz.com or adding my format editing?

Plus GoGriz.com doesn't have season totals, I provide them. You're welcome.

Sask, this part is pretty easy:

Use this as a set of test values: 1,2,2,3,5,6,8,13,14

Mean (same as average)
Take the sum of all the values (54), and divide it by the number of entries (9) = 6

Median
Arrange the values from smallest to largest, and find the value in the middle. In this case = 5

Mode
Find the value in the list that has the most entries. In this case = 2 (2 of them)

As PGM notes, median is often used when some relatively small number of entries are much larger or smaller than the mean, and thus skew the data one way or the other.
