Red zone defense - 1st in nation! .550%
Defensive TDs - tied for 2nd with 3 TDs
3rd down conversion defense - 9th at .275
4th down conversion defense - 5th at .200
First downs defense - 21st with 100
Passing yards allowed - 15th at 176.7
Scoring defense - 17th with 20.2
Team pass efficiency defense - 10th at 103.2
Team sacks - 9th with 3.17 per game
Team tackle for loss - 2nd with 9.2 per game!
Total defense - 11th with 305 ypg

Awesome job by our new DC and our young defense!
 
Compared to where we were last year or, the prior several years.....
I'm sure Glad Tyler G became a kitten.....
 
Let's revisit after the next couple games.....if we're still in the same vicinity after that.....this is a very special unit.

Great stats. But run them without the last 2 games. Scoring defense goes from 17th to 34th. If the Griz win the next 2 games, I won't even care what these stats show.

Typical PR, cherry picking stats to match an argument. Should we discount the Cats games against Sac St and Weber, you know, so they will have pretty good defensive stats too.

No doubt. Tyler was such dead weight holding us back. Talk about addition by subtraction.
And we would never see this type of offensive production because his #bendover&takeit D could never get off the field so all games were close

Nope, would have crushed them. The main comparison, closest of apples to apples, is Cal Poly. UM defense was way better against CP last year. Don't be silly, AZ.

Offense scored twice as many points this year, but the D still couldn't keep the score under 42. The O gave the D much more support, and TOP, this year. Let's hear your explanation.

Nope. 2d and 3d TD's were from turnovers, on about the Cat 25. Weber got 3 points in second half. Cat D gave up 28 points.
