Montana Football Hall of Fame

Great event in Billings last night. Naseby Rhinehart and Harley Lewis were inducted as contributors--as was Dennis Erickson. Players honored were Bob O'Billovich, Mike Tilleman, Kirk Scrafford, Tim Hauck," Wild Bill" Kelly, and Aldo Forte from Montana and Bill Kollar from the Cats. Dwan Edwards (Oregon State) from Columbus rounded out the honorees. Very well done with entertaining comments and recollections from inductees. Generally a pro Griz crowd. Credit Mick Holien, selection committee member, for strong UM reprentation. Congrats to The Big Huddle for a classy show.

In 2016, the non-profit Big Huddle in Billings began the Montana Football Hall of Fame to honor great football talent from the Treasure State.

On March 25, 2017, a total of 11 men were inducted into the Montana Football Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the Red Lion Hotel in Billings, Montana.

Video features Tim Hauck, former Montana Grizzlies’ All-American safety, a Big Timber native who played 13 seasons in the NFL before moving into coaching, first in college and now in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Video features Dennis Erickson, the starting quarterback at Montana State in the late 1960s and a legendary coach both in college and the NFL during an illustrious 47-year career. Erickson started his career at Billings Central High before taking his first college job at Montana State in a career that saw him win two national championships at Miami, a Fiesta Bowl at Oregon State and spend two different stints in the NFL.
