Here's the stats for the four incoming Fr from their Sr seasons in high school. Achenbach's have been talked about here but the rest are just as impressive. This is easily our best recruiting class since year one. It's also the first year that Coach Pinkerton has really had an option to Red Shirt any incoming Freshmen.

Tristan Achenbach P, OF CMR, MT.
Pitching
21 games, 18 starts, 17-1 with 1 save.
122.1 innings pitched.
26 hits, 25 walks, 3 home runs.
0.23 ERA(4 earned runs all year).
264 strike outs(15.1 k's/7 innings).
Batting
.408 batting average(31 hits, 86 AB).
17 runs, 22 RBI's, 1 stolen base.
6 doubles, 3 home runs.

One of three state champions and a two time Montana Gatorade Player of the Year. Given our abundance of pitching talent currently on the roster, and Coach Pinkerton stating she needs to get a little stronger, I'd expect her to red shirt a year.

Savannah Voyles SS CMR, MT.
25 games.
.557 batting average(44 hits, 79 AB)
2 doubles, 2 triples, 17 homers.
1.279 slugging percentage.
49 runs, 41 RBI, 8 stolen bases.
.870 fielding percentage.
18 put outs, 22 assists, 6 errors.

The power and average are there. She played SS but may start somewhere else due to the unfavorable fielding percentage. 2B may be an option or RF if Stites moves into the IF. RSing may also be an option, as for any of the new girls.

Alexis Knauss SS Meridian High, ID.
28 games.
.539 batting average(52 hits, 96 AB)
19 doubles, 5 triples, 11 homers.
1.191 slugging percentage.
49 runs, 44 RBI, 22 stolen bases.
.941 fielding percentage.
47 put outs, 64 assists, 7 errors.

Idaho's Gatorade Player of the Year. Another great bat with high average and power but excellent speed also. A better fielder then Voyles also, she may be Colburn's replacement at SS. May start at 3B next year but, like Voyles, could play right or RS depending on position changes by current Griz and maturity level.

Jessica McAlister C, 3B La Curva High Albuquerque NM.
Stats are incomplete. Only 18 of 28 games box scores were turned to MaxPreps.
18 games.
.534 batting average(31 hits, 58 AB)
2 doubles, 2 triples, 6 homers.
22 runs, 26 runs, 1 stolen base.
1.000 fielding percentage.
74 put outs, 12 assists, 0 errors.

Another state champ plus the starting catcher for the #10 ranked team in the country by MaxPreps. Also the #3 ranked recruit out of NM. A four year starter at 3B and Catcher for the 6A perennial power from Albuquerque, she could pass up Madison Saacke as the starting catcher next year if Saacke's bat doesn't bounce back for her Sr season.
