New Lady Griz Commit: Taylor Goligoski

Hamilton's Taylor Goligoski has given her verbal to the UM Lady Griz basketball program as reported on KPAX tonight. She was the Montana Gatorade POY as a sophomore. Good athlete that plans to walk-on to the softball program as well.

...(the) NCAA allows basketball scholarship athletes to play softball (but)..not vice versa. That's interesting. I wonder why not.

It has to due with the fact that basketball offers full scholarships and softball offers partial. A division 1 softball program has 12 scholarships to offer, so the reality is that no college softball player is getting a full ride. Division 1 college baseball has 11.7 scholarships.
