The irony of it all...

Thursday's matchup in Albuquerque has it's share. Freddie Owens, the Griz second year assistant who started for Ryan at UW in 2003-04 was born in Milwaukee....and so was Wayne Tinkle! Then there's the long shot prospect of a second round game between the purported Harvard of the West ;) versus "The Harvard of the East" if both the Badgers and Vanderbilt lose round one...Yeah, right.

In any case, Wayne has probably already made Owens hoarse by now from reciting all he knows about Wisconsin's slow down game.

I thought we were playing Wisco, not Stanford.

and 20 years ago Shannon Cate scored 34 points to lead her 11th seeded Montana Lady Griz to an upset of 6th seeded........wait for it....................Wisconsin.

And none of this is irony. Coincidental, not ironic. Grammar Nazi mode: off

It would seem to me that there is a little irony in the fact that Owens has presumably some allegiance to Wisconsin, but will be attempting to help their opponent win. :thumb:
