UCLA: Game Cancelled due to Fires

I haven't seen UCLA play at all this year. I have noted them being in the media alot though! To anyone who has seen them play what is your score prediction? I wont hold you to it! Just for fun I will guess 82-63. Griz! Kidding, UCLA by 19. Again I haven't seen UCLA play.

Its been a crazy week and season for them...we may catch them at the perfect time. I don't think we win, but I think we make a game of it and lose by 6.

I'm thinking timing couldn't be better to play UCLA. The distractions surrounding all things Ball are full boil right now. I also think we are going to see tear from Rorie. Working on his shot in the early am with TD after the Stanford game was great to see. This will be close, a couple of possessions will make or break the game.

Yes. This ^

My observation = UCLA has post players / size inside. So I hope that the Griz can speed up the pace some, and stay out of foul trouble while playing decent defense.

http://pac-12.com/live Tonight's stream link for the UCLA game. Also televised live at 8:00 PM, PST on Pac-12 Networks for those that have access. GO GRIZ! Maul the Bruins!

Hey I like the positivity! Maybe we can hang with these guys. I get the Pac-12 network (bought it for the UW football game) and kept it as it has come in handy several times. I am a Pac-12 fan after the Big Sky of course. I have had to root against the other two universities (UW and Duke) I graduated from while rooting for my undergrad (and favorite) university the U of M Grizzlies. I hope we can beat the poop out of UCLA. Rorie, Akoh and Oguine will have to play well. Actually Moorehead too. Oh and so will ....

Just saw the game is cancelled due to wildfires.

NEWS: UCLA has canceled tonight's men's basketball game against Montana "due to concerns stemming from area wildfires." Bruins also announce "all other team workouts and practices scheduled for today also have been canceled."

No! I was looking forward to the game. Well safety first. Bummer though. Maybe they were just scared of us and came up with this weak excuse :D

Me too...real bummer for everyone involved, but honestly, especially to those losing their homes in this disaster. My wife's cousin, unfortunately, is one of them.

Feel bad for Michael Oguine, who really wanted to play in front of family and friends per the Missoulian article.

Drove into LA via Riverside because the 215 was closed because of fires. Heavy winds all the way. New fires popping up in the mountains and even in empty lots. I drive a white car and it was nearly black by the time I got to Westwood only to be told the game was cancelled. UCLA was a ghost town and the students I saw were wearing masks. saw few UM fans also disappointed. But, I have never seen fires like this. I can understand the cancellation of the game. And, I even thought UM would win this one but the winds are now picking up and the fires could roll over further into Bel Air and Brentwood. This is a disaster. I suspect UCLA will have to repay UM for this but really, they had no choice. Smoke is thick and power is off and on. Global climate change is here, believe it or not.

UCLA can claim they cancelled the game for "safety" reasons, but 2 NBA teams practiced at UCLA that same day and the venue was in no threat. They better honor the 85K guarantee one way or another.

Interesting....hmmmm?

It would have been really interesting to see how Griz BB would have fared against UCLA in the aftermath of the Ball kid arrest/suspension/quitting the team. They have some big post players that would have caused Griz some issues. UCLA shooters really seem to be hot or cold, and not quite effective if they don't get turnovers and run-outs.

UCLA just beat Kentucky.

UCLA played its best game of the season and defeated No. 7 Kentucky by a score of 83-75 on Saturday afternoon in New Orleans. Kris Wilkes and Aaron Holiday each scored 20 points for the Bruins, who earned revenge after losing to the Wildcats in last year’s Sweet 16. Jaylen Hands had 14 points, while Thomas Welsh chipped in 13.

Any updates if UCLA/Montana are still trying to play this game? Seems like it would be beneficial to both at this point.
