POLL: Griz Legacy Forum

Postby chris » Wed Feb 08, 2012 10:14 am

It's kind of a lose lose situation because we have those that don't want to talk about "ex-griz" in the griz forum, we have those that want to. We have those that post this info in Griz Legacy and those that post it in Griz Football, a lot of times doubling up the topic.

I am going to leave it up to you...

Do we want the Griz Football forum to be about ALL Griz, past and present? Or do you want to keep it split?

My only concern is what do we do about Griz Legacy when it comes to other sports besides football? And are athletes treated the same way as coaches. It might be a small enough issue that it isn't really an issue. I am very interested in reading about Tru and others chasing their NFL dreams. I'm not really interested in Hauck at UNLV.

Haha good luck making people happy on this one, Chris!

If we couldn't post topics about former Griz players and coaches then this board would be very dead throughout the offseason.

I think past players and coaches are part of our institutional history. Why not include it really? If someone doesn't care they can usually tell by the subject line what the thread is about.

Definitely true.

I voted for combining the threads, bowing to reality -- which is that most people put the Legacy material on the Griz FB thread anyway. The problem is: During the season, when BOTH topics are of greatest interest, the Legacy threads tend to get buried in the college-level topics. Maybe we should "de-activate" the Legacy thread during the off-season and then start it up again during the college football season. (Just a thought.)

I voted to combine. I find the Legacy link at the top of the page distracting.

I voted combine. It's all we talk about in the off season anyway. It looks like there were about 80 legacy posts (and that's including the threads that were posted in the football forum anyway) that would have been added during the season.

Not significant enough for me to always remember to check the legacy forum.

It's definitely looking like combining them is the way the majority of users would like it.

I'll keep the poll open for a little longer and make the decision then. Thanks to everyone for the feedback.

If it were a political election, we'd be talking landslide by now, and the fundamental issues as to why the majority is so popular. Of course we'd still be hearing from the defeated on CNN, and about how their agenda just wasnt getting to the right people. Exit polling is showing that this landslide will potentially increase even.

I'd swear I saw some dead guys voting. Some voted a number of times. I was turned away at the door by thuggish moderators who wouldn't let me vote.

I voted to combine them. I think people should be able to post about whatever they want, within reason. Except if people don't agree with me. Those people should be banned forever.

Combining it is :) If it's related to Griz Football past or present, the Griz Football forum is where it belongs!

Combine them. Just ask poster's to clearly state in the subject that this is a legacy post or ex-griz or something like that.
