All from a team that once they got those backups in place, went 6/7 down the stretch. As Ranger mentioned, there's also the run game that should be a lot better this year with the experience our young backs gained last year and the depth on the OL. The injuries, true freshman, and not having TJ hampered us last year. There's a lot of reason for optimism in Eagle Nation.
In that stretch, EWU gave up 21/28/27/35/43/51/14.
Ya'll might want to think about a drop down DEFENSIVE player instead of a QB.
Iteresting side note that perhaps proves EWU gets up for the Griz like nobody else: The ONLY team on EWU's schedule last year that scored FEWER points than Montana was Idaho State in the last game of the year.
Typical AZ spin. That proves nothing. At that point, we still had Matt Johnson, Zach Johnson and Renard Williams playing and not out with injuries. Also, the Griz were still figuring out their offense. As the year went on, we kept losing players. A total of 22 started on defense by the season's end. Kind of hard to get the other team off the field when you're missing your best LB, best S, and best DL, among others.
Here's a newsflash for you, 173 1/2: NONE of those three are coming back this year. So, if THAT's how you play without them, good luck keeping teams under 30 this year.![]()

Zach Johnson will be back....medical RS.

It's a fairly predictable pattern
1) Post thread over here about EWU, possibly baiting us in some way
2) Griz fan says something disparaging about EWU
3) Thread is now smack

Zach Johnson has been granted a medical RS because of missing most of last season, and all of 2009 because of the same knee. Also, we might've lost Renard, but we gain UW transfer DT Andru Pulu (6'2, 300) who had to sit out last year. Pulu's brother is a 3star 6'2 240lb LB that had offers from WSU and Wyoming, but chose EWU, so he could play as a true freshman.

Better hope he can play all three positions then.
havgrizfan wrote:Padron is good. The Eags will be a much better team with him. Me, I'm finally glad the Griz will have the same QB for three straight years. It's been forever since that happened. Before Padron, I had the Griz winning handily in Cheney in 2012...now, I'll say it's back to a barn burner on the red carpet.

A Mo Club burger says Moore averages 4.5/carry against that vaunted defense.

If nothing else, your posts are entertaining and your prognosticating helps me through these long and boring months of no football. I think you are overconfident, but good for you. I would expect nothing less from a real fan. In reality - I hate your red carpet, your team, your recruits, your mascot, your stadium, the smell of your campus, your quarterback, anyone who transfers to your school, your state, and anything else remotely related to your program, but good luck. You are going to need it!

Two Mo Club burgers says Padron throws over 300 yards against the Griz D.

Well sure he will. They'll be down by 21 midway through the third, will abandon the running game and will just pass pass pass to try (unsucessfully, I might add) to get back into the game.
BTW: Griz gave up an average of 190 ypg passing last year.
! Our defense will be MUCH better than anyone anticipates. You can take THAT to the bank......hawaiiangriz wrote:I do tire of opposing teams living in the past - such as, remember 2010? WTF does that mean? I could say where did EWU end up with it's last game last year (hmmm?) but I won't. I'll take the Griz's last game over any other BSC game!
With that said, you'd be a total idiot to state a new Q/B throws for over 300 against the Griz this fall! Our defense will be MUCH better than anyone anticipates. You can take THAT to the bank......

That's a laugh and a half. Yeah... totally idiotic to think that a QB who threw for over 300 yards in 40% of the games he played with at least 10 attempts against FBS competition, would put up over 300 yards in a pass heavy offense against a team losing 9 defensive starters. So crazy.![]()
I won't take it to the bank because they don't cash checks that small. But I will bookmark it for future reference.
