CBS call out to Will Cherry

Postby mtgrizrule » Sat Mar 10, 2012 3:34 pm

I am watching the crappy played Michigan-Ohio State Big 10 semi final game, and guess what?
Clark Kellogg has a picture of 5 guys that can get it done in the NCAA tournament. 1 of those 5, our own, Will Cherry. What a pleasant surprise!!! Makes me thankful I was actually watching this crappy game.

By the way, I think we could hang with these teams. Ohio State though is a lot scarier.

Am enjoying watching Colorado go up by 12 over Arizona in the Pac-12 final. Having seen a very good Buffs team all season long I have to agree, the conference is down.

we gotta get Michigan. We match up great with them basically starting 4 guards and they also rely on shooting the ball. I think our perimeter D could put them on their heels early.

Very cool! I'm watching the WAC championship game. They were comparing Weber to some of the WAC and PAC 12 teams that are hopeful of at large bids.

I would be shocked but happy if Weber was an at large. Will not happen, though. The Griz made sure of that.

Yeah, it's a total long shot for sure. I thought it was cool they were even in the conversation.

That's awesome that Cherry is getting some recognition! You see it every year in the tournament, a team with a couple great guards shock one (or more) of the big boys. Maybe this year it's the Griz!

You are probably right, but Weber sure deserves it more than some of the teams Lunardi has in.. like Seton Hall (13 seed play-in game)... they were 9-11 in the Big East. Texas (12 seed in a play-in) at 10-10 in conference, Oh and of course Mississippi state (12 seed play in).. 8-9 in their conference with a worse RPI than Weber and the Griz.

Yeah, lets reward teams that couldn't even win more than half of their conference games with an at large bid because they loaded up on easy home games early knowing their conference affiliation would bail them out and raise their RPI in the end

Oh yeah, I believe Weber should be in the tourney and would be better than others who would take their place. It's a shame it won't happen with the BSC reputation.

Weber State is a damn good team and deserves a birth. They won't get one. It sucks! It's better than the BCS in football, but still sucks! I hope Weber State wins the NIT! :thumb:

Strangely Weber's RPI went up with both losses to the Griz. They are currently at 70, we at 77 in ESPNs daily RPI. And RealTime has them at 67, and us at 76.

They'll get an NIT. If not for their record, then for Mr. Lilliard.

You would think so, just like we thought the Griz would get an NIT invite last year. Didn't happen. They will at least get into one of the tournaments.

Love the Will shout out but if you think our boys could stop Sullenger you are delusional. He could put up 40 with 20 boards against us, no way Ward or Selvig can slow that guy down.
