Maybe they should have banned gang rape.

This! haha
But seriously twitter is awesome and I hate when programs ban it from players. Make them put a privacy lock on it while their in school but dont ban it all together. Twitter is not a privilege to college students, its a right. Only people that should be able to ban them is the site's owner.

The coaches/school didn't ban them. The seniors decided it and the rest of the team agreed. I like it.

I remember my first email, and it wasn't to a computer, it was thru a web tv. Remember them?? Browse the internet on your tv? Some of my first eGriz posts may have been made on a web tv, LOL!

Do you remember the 1st football games on computer? You would call the play, and it would give you the result. I also loved playing the football game with the roller ball. The players were X'S and O's.

I actually have an old atari game system and several games in a box around here somewhere. I'm tempted to get it out and hook it up now, LOL

I remember when Atari came out with their first baseball/basketball games. Little square-blockheaded players running around the diamond/court...I was in Heaven, and remember thinking that there was NO POSSIBLE WAY that video graphics could EVER get any better than that!!

I love that Kemp is basically giving this rule the middle finger.
haha
“He has the physical ability, plus that intangible you can’t coach — leadership skill,” Reid said. “You can’t always find it. But you feel lucky when you find someone who has it. He has it all. He’s Dave Dickenson — one of greatest quarterbacks we’ve had here — in a bigger, stronger, more athletic body. That’s Travis Lulay.”

Yeah she kinda threw him under the bus. But it shows anybody can read your tweets and can use them against you.

I'm so sick of Florio. Look at what she is doing, the STORY is purely about the team's seniors deciding to not use Twitter as a form of social media any longer, and she finishes the story by bringing up Donaldson and JJ. "Oh hey, Twitter was banned. Did you know our football team rapes people?" What a joke, what a terrible journalist. I can't believe the Missoulian allows her to keep her job and her paycheck, she should be put out to pasture.

Not all football players agreed with the ban on tweeting, Gee said. But all will be held to the same standard
It will be interesting to see how this is handled. UM has a brand new code of conduct that was produced with the intent of getting rid of the grey area when dealing with discipline. The athletic director indicating she (or someone in the athletic dept) will be holding football players to one standard, but all other sports to a different standard seems to go totally against what they were trying to accomplish with the new student code of conduct.

Donaldson and JJ assumed that "finishing role" from Tru and Kemp. By the way, welcome to the club.

I don't even understand why Florio was the one writing this story. Supposedly, she's the courts and law enforcement reporter -- what do the Griz football team and Twitter have to do with any of that??

Funny that the fans seem to be more upset by this than the players.

Agreed.
And why Florio is posting this? Probably b/c the ban stems from the whirlwind of media around the alleged actions of a few players and the supposed rumors around a few others - and the fallout that occured after it. I honestly think that if the original events didn't occur - thus none of the ensuing media circus, coach fired, etc - that there'd be no talks amongst the team of a twitter ban.

She's also the anti-football reporter, and her stories get on the front page. So, yet another chance for a front page story to try to put Kemp in a bad light and to bring up the sexual assault stuff. It's important to keep bringing up the sexual assault stuff, because people may have forgotten about that already.

I guess I just assumed that since the players came up with the rule, that they were generally all in agreement.
That brings up a good point though...since this is a rule that was instituted by players, is it also to be enforced by players or this be enforced by coaches and/or athletic department administration?
