Not sure if there is a press release but I saw on twitter that Will Cherry got invited to Deron Williams Skill Camp. That is a pretty big honor as I hear it's a prestigious camp. Damian Lilliard is the one that tweeted it. Must have respect for one another. Pretty cool!

I just seen that at on Will's twitter, from Lilliard. Was going to wait to see Will post it. If true, which is likely, I am happy for him. I have never before, and likely never again, go out on the limb for any GRIZ athlete as FR thinking, then posting that player has NBA talent. Will I hope you prove me right. It will be a long while before I see a GRIZ impress me that much, that early.

Is Cherry getting any NBA buzz at all?

Not as much as Lilliard was last year. He is on the radar though. IF he kicks ass at this camp. it will help him immensely. I hope the biggest critique he gets is,use your skills to become a better distributor! I have no doubt, that is the last big obstacle to overcome for him. :thumb:

Just some interesting Cherry numbers and stats to pour over...

Agree, hopefully he can keep learning and maybe down the road seize a back up point guard role for someone in the NBA. I see that as his upside and wish him luck, love his passion for the game.

I could see him finding a slot as a poor man's Avery Bradley somewhere. Similar size and Will definitely has the quicks to become a shutdown defender with the right coaching.

After seeing what Lillard is doing in NBA, I think Will has a legit shot. To bad he will be missing so many games. And most importantly, will he be a 100%, or play tentatively do to the injury? I know its not gonna happen, but it would be much better for his NBA chances to redshirt this year!!!
