Actually just the opposite. Every day that goes by that charges aren't brought against JJ bodes well in his favor. RE will not uphold the campus court expulsion without charges against JJ. Fact. If they had solid evidence indicating JJ's guilt don't you think they would have charged him by now, 4 months after those alleged incidents?

I guess you and I are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. The fact that we haven't heard anything by now doesn't have anything to do with JJ's prospects improving. I don't understand why you can't comprehend that the legal process involving the City and the University have nothing to do with each other. It seems incredibly absurd and unfair, but the Regents can uphold his expulsion without charges coming from the County Attorney's Office. Preponderance of evidence and reasonable doubt are two very different standards of proof. Yes, JJ has recourse in challenging this disparity federally, but that process can take years.

Care to make a gentleman's bet on JJ playing this year? Look, I want JJ to play this year as much as you, but I (among others) am fairly certain it's not going to happen. And the coaches would be stupid to not have a backup plan in place, even if the odds were better than they are. It sucks to admit, but JJ is likely going to be a victim of a process that is much bigger than his case alone. In a different environment, this likely would have been an open and shut case that didn't make it past the accusation/investigation stage. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Unfairly or not, our beloved program has become synonymous with all that's wrong with college athletics. And for that reason, the powers that be, from the DA's office to the Regents, no longer have the discretion they once did in determining these cases. The pressure from the outside to "make heads roll" is going to have an impact. I'm sure you are aware of the term "buyer's market"? Well from a legal standpoint, this is a "victim's market".

You can get expelled for lot's of reasons that won't send you to jail. Cheating on test for example. I think the University process and the legal process are pretty separate.

Why in the world would he choose Texas St. over Montana? :coffee:

Normal denial that a recruit would prefer an FBS opportunity over small college.

Why do you post this every time someone questions a kids decision? How do you explain the multiple recruits every year Montana DOES get that had FBS offers (Does the name Herbert Gamboa ring a bell? And he had a LOT better offer than suck-ass Texas State).

Why do guys like you feel compelled to question kid's decisions when they pick an FBS program over Montana? I don't try to explain why a recruit might pick Montana over an FBS offer, because it's usually unknown whether the FBS offer was financially comparable; they are often offers for an FBS preferred walk-on vs. a partial or full ride at FCS. Money differential can be critical to recruits. I know something about the decision process, because I went through it personally. Where does your insight come from?

So..do you think this means JJ is a go??
Fan support isn't even worth arguing. UND has fans, Eastern has a bunch of Airway Heights drunks who couldn't score Coug tickets.

They can be separate depending on the circumstances, but in the case of Jordan Johnson, his fate is inextricably bound to the outcome of a legal proceeding. Can anyone envision an adverse ruling under the SCC if he is legally exonerated or the charges dropped entirely?
