What teams should drop a division?

Come on dog !!!! Really!!! You think that's something to brag about??? What are those programs doing and do you think those are Natonal Powers or teams that are talked about???? You a little tipsy there partner?

Well many are powers in the FBS... so yeah. Of that list many went on a year before or a year or two after to win the national title or play in the national title. This list (not in its entirety) consists of practically the "whos who" of FCS powers, with possible exception of just a few teams like Georgia Southern, Youngstown St, Deleware, and maybe a few others.

He's from a state with 2 FBS schools, so only victories over FBS squads count in his mind.

I have to admit SUU is Behind and needs to catch up facility wise and in other areas, but why do you guys seriously believe the griz shouldn't drop down too??? Do you really believe that the griz are thought of highly on a national level??? What are y'all sipping on up there E&J brandy or mad dog 20/20  year in year out who are the griz beating outside the Big sky??? I'm out

I sure hope the other SUU fans aren't assholes like you... I'll assume that you're not the norm & you just have poor manners... especially considering you're still not even an official member of the Big Sky yet.

Do NOT feed the troll.

Interesting that someone would call for the likes of Oregon State and Wazzu to drop a division. I think the only possibility of that happening is if Fox Sports fails to renew the $20 million television contract with the PAC 12 conference as a condition for it. Wazzu just hired a HC for the football program for $2.25 million, up from about $600k for the previous occupant of that position, so don't look for it any time soon.

"Follow the money", to coin a phrase. That will determine the college football landscape of the future.

Weber State?

You want a school that has one of the top mid major hoops programs, which has led the Big Sky in attendance for who knows how many years in a row, who averaged close to 7,000 and had a total attendace of 103,893 to drop to division II just because of our low football attendance? which I'll point out out has been rising every year, and BEAT Weber State's basktball average this last year. Weber State football has been competeitive as of late, more so than they have been in a while, and has shown they can play with the likes of Montana beating them more than anyone else in the nation in the last few years.

And saying EWU should move down is just stupid, they have been one of the Big Sky's most competetive football teams for a long time and they just recently won a national championship, not to mention they have been competetive in hoops the last few years as well.

If this is really based on Football and basketball attendance, then teams like Montana State should be forced to move down because they cant even average 3,000 fans in basketball, and Montana can barely average 4,000 and that number is largely thanks to 2 home games against Weber State.

From the looks of most of the posts of this thread, it doesnt matter how good you are at other sports, it's all about football.

Does any other sport matter? One of those sports pays the bills, the others do not.

Depends on the school, I wouldnt be suprised if Weber basketball brings in more $ than Weber football

The only team in the Big Sky that I see "should" drop back to D2 would be UNC however that team even might be turning a corner, they've got a pretty good defense this year...

Weber - decent football facilities, nice press box, improving team, best hoops programs in the Big Sky
NAU - As I recall actually operates on a pretty high athletic budget, hoops is down right now, Walkup Skydome just had a ton of renovations.
Sac - Always improving their facilitie, giant campus
ISU - Long "down" stretch but was once a storied team, Holt Arena is presumably holding this team back
EWU - Making improvements, need more attention to hoops programs, stadium improvements are a good thing
SUU - Facilities need to step it up, Ecceles is nice but awfully small, Bball/Vball indoor arena is actually quite nice

NAU doesn't have a large budget and their contributions and ticket sales are pretty low. Their contributions are horrible. You can see schools financial data base on the below link. UNC, on average is middle of the pack in terms of ticket sales, contributions and budget.

Or else what? More of your unintelligible drivel? There must be a lot of inbreeding going on down there.

Someone mentioned that Wake Forest should drop down. That probably won't happen as they are interested in competing at a high level, thus, members of the ACC. Over the years, wins haven't been consistent in football, however, in recent years, they have won an ACC championship and played in the Orange Bowl. Wake Forest continues to be very competitive in sports such as golf, tennis and soccer. They have had some strong national teams in basketball, however, currently in a drought. Basketball in the ACC isn't a walk in the park. Wake Forest has high academic standards and has a strong donor base....a wonderful school, indeed.

Sort of like SUU, right?
