Got my annual EWU season ticket holder email today

"Season" tickets. What part of that is being overseen? Of course its cheaper (per game) for an EWU fan to buy season tickets because they're actually going to attend all five games, rather than just one. I shelled out $60 last season to come to Missoula for the EWU game...why are you complaining about it when its happening to you?

P.S. Giving back the other tickets two years ago was nice of you...

That's the difference. We ALSO pay that much for our home games, season tickets or no.

Again, not complaining, your AD deserves kudos for this

Sorry if I misinterpreted your comments (sounded like complaining, but no mind). Here's where I'm confused, you state that this fee is for visitors only. All senior, junior, and family season seats exclude the UM game and have to be paid for separately at $55 a seat. The only package that doesn't charge separately is for the seatbacks which are reserved for the EAA members and they are already paying a donation fee to the foundation. I'm sure that before we were selling out, it was feasible to have visitor fans buy season tickets with the intent to use only one and most weren't kind enough to return the other tickets. Seems like a reasonable solution to avoid empty seats. Of course you can wait and get single game tickets on September 4th or stay home and watch on tv. And yes, I got my renewal letter that was dated April 4th a while ago.

And before an EWU fan comes in here with some smartass remark.. last time I bought season tickets for the game, I mailed the rest of the tickets back with a note to give them to some kids. Hopefully they did it

That's cool of you to do. :thumb:

Either way, bitching about the ticket prices when your stadium revenue for one game exceeds what ours can make for nearly the entire season simply by virtue of the disparity in size seems a bit ungracious.

It's not the size of the STADIUM that causes the issue. It's the size of the CROWD. Go ahead and build a 25,000 seat stadium if you think that'll solve all your money problems.

And boom goes the Dynooomite!!

Eastern should allow visitors to come to the games for free considering the price of surgery for our eyes after the game!

:thumb: Have you tried watching a game there in HD? It is every bit as bad for the eyes. I cannot fathom watching it in 3d HD.

it's a big deal!

While I agree on TV the field is tough on the eyes, in person I thought it was pretty cool, and really never noticed it when the games started.

I was part of that ewu tix blast today, as well.
I noted the continued approach to milk the UM cow, and I support sky-high prices for games with teams whose schools take that approach. Then I yawned and thought that I'll have a pleasant late afternoon watching on my dish, w/the fee already paid. screw ewu.

Thank God! We don't need you Griz people over here anyways! You can cry about the red field and the big fat loss you receive from home!

Wait...EWU season tickets are only 90 bucks? Like for the whole season?
Less than that for a family pack (2 adults and up to 3 kids) $65.

Your box office thinks differently.

Once again us Griz fans are happy to prop up another Sisters of the Poor Big Sky school.

In 2011, Montana charged $57 per ticket to the EWU-Montana game in Missoula.
- The school also charged $57 per ticket to the EWU band, something that had never been done in years past by either school.
- This new process by UM forced our budget-constrained band not to attend the 2011 game in Missoula.
- $57 was the highest ticket price UM charged for ANY of its 2011 football home games.

In 2011, EWU sold out 3 of 4 home games (averaging 8,800 which is 600 beyond capacity for its venue).
- This was done without having Griz Nation on our home schedule.
- EWU sold-out games against MSU, N. Colorado & Portland State.
- Weber State had 7,400 fans (800 below capacity).
- EWU set several attendance marks in 2011, including season tickets & single game sales.
- Our student population and game attendance has sky-rocketed since 2008. We are generating 3,500 students per game and expect upwards of 4,500 students at the UM game. We will need to place the students who finance a large part of EWU athletics in some of those temp bleachers, thus the cost realized for single game ticket fans goes up as a result.

Why $55 per ticket?
- EWU has to pay for the 3,500-4,500 temporary bleachers to accommodate the extra fans.
- EWU has to pay for the additional security, port-a-potties, grounds crew, etc that comes with having 12,000 fans in for one game every two years.
- EWU also has to show a revenue increase on the game in order to justify why we bring in the extra bleachers, security, staff, etc., in the first place. Economics 101.

Why not move the game to Joe Albi where capacity is 23,000?
- Joe Albi has rental costs; parking, stadium, concessions, etc.
- We are EWU, home of the Red Turf at Roos Field.
- Our goal is to be the King of the West Plains in football, and we are succeeding with a great tailgate and venue at Roos Field.

Why restrict UM-EWU tickets prior to Sept. 5, 2012?
- EWU has a limited staff over the summer to handle customer service & sales issues.
- EWU focuses on its season tickets & donors over 1 game every two years.
- It allows EWU to have the best selection of its season tickets and donor seats go to EWU fans who will at the stadium the entire year, not to UM fans for 1 game every two years.
- The restriction affects BOTH Griz fans and Eastern fans who don’t wish to purchase adult season tickets or become a donor. I get more complaints from EWU fans about the restriction than UM fans, which surprises me.

What is the price of a Montana ticket home or away if the Griz join the FBS?
- $75 for endzone-$100 for 20 yardline is average.
- I was just in Dallas at NACDA. Most of the FBS schools are talking about how “low” they sell the price of their single game tickets for.

 :thumb: They don't care...their little world revolves around Missoula and their beloved Griz. The way I see it, the more that complain and stay home, the better it will be for everyone. They still think this is the EWU of 10, even 5 years ago. They'll be surprised how much things have changed just since 2010. ;)

Answered a lot of my questions!
