Somebody has to bring some levity to this board. I was banned for a week by heavy-handed mods, then decided to stay off the board another week to make a statement to them about their selective censorship.

I heard from Mr. Titleist's wife that he was screaming out your name in his sleep.

I think you should make that statement a lot louder. Maybe dedicate the rest of your life to the statement! Imagine how loud the statement could become, then. :thumb:

As I have said all along, doing what it is right and best for a company or institution cannot be dictated by legal concerns. Legal concerns are only one of several important factors. A company/institution shouldn't let legal concerns run or dictate various important decisions the company/institution, although, of course, legal factors must be analyzed and taken into account.

Huh?

Sounds like the CIA with it's Title 10. Why let a little thing like legality stand in the way? Advise JFK to kill off 3,000 American citizens before the Bay of Pigs and blame Fidel for it; why not? Too bad JFK renounced such a policy; cost him though, now didn't it? Same thing happened with the Bay of Tonkin Resolution by Congress in 1964. Stage a confabulation in Tonkin Bay by the CIA and blame somebody else; worked to the death of about 58,000 American citizens there, didn't it? Who needs legalities? Once you're dead you don't have to worry about it anymore, right?

I don't think UM President Royce Engstrom is out to destroy athletics or football, but that doesn't mean he isn't doing a wrecking ball's job of it. Royce has made several blunders in his first two years, starting with a "new era" research initiative that's turned out to be absolutely toothless, to his environmental initiatives that run counter to UM's mission as a land grant institution, to ignoring the slow death of forestry's greater role in Western Montana's economy and failing to iniate an adequate replacement rooted in the new economy, to not fostering better partnerships with medical hubs in Missoula and Billings, to not aggressively insisting that when patented UM research is commercialized, it's at least partly commercialised in Montana. Do you have any idea how much of the commercialized UM research benefits economies out of state instead of Montana's? Montana State University's best research is commercialized in state, which is one of the main reasons high tech and manufacturing leapfrogged construction as Gallatin County's No.2 employer after the housing industry lost a third of its jobs to the recession. UM's most recently commercialized success is kicking ass for San Francisco, not Montana.
Eastern Montana has The state's best economy and presents great opportunities for everything from reclamation, to education, to nursing, to business management and economics--all things UM should have an interest in, but there's no UM presence in Eastern Montana to speak of and to my knowledge Engstrom has never even been as far east as Billings. Montana Tech's programs alone warrant a trip east. Cruzado has been east. I think Engstrom's attempt to shirk UM's obligation to military veterans is disgraceful. I thing the handling of the Saudi student accused of rape is disgraceful, not to mention the president misrepresented to the board of regents the bungled sequence of um's timing to the Saudi incident. That fib is in the BOR minutes. Oh yeah, there's the kangaroo student conduct court and the bungled firings of contract employees that will surely cost students or taxpayers or both.
The saying "you broke it, you own it" seems to apply here. Right now, Royce Engstrom's university is listing badly.

wyoming, if your going to chastize other posters by using examples from American history, please be accurate. It is the GULF of Tonkin, not the bay. And yes, there is a huge difference.

I'll leave forever if you learn to use college level English in your posts. But we know that will never happen.

Yep - hurting the football program is going to damage the ENTIRE athletic department and cut of some funding for the main fund itself since money is siphoned football revenues off to pay for other non athletic programs/costs.

So why does a college exist in the first place? For athletic or education? You think it is for one, I think it is for both.

Easy question. Less than 1% of college athletes play professional sports. The other 99% go professional in the work force.

Even less than that at MSU.

Yeah, but with UM the 50% of the 99% are professionals at Mcdonald's :)

Mr. T,

Growler offered me $10 to write that. Haven't seen the check in the mail yet...

Fine use of masturbatory imagery in your response!

Carry on,

General Turgidson

A mod calling posters "stupid tools". And, I get warning for writing the exact same words. I think my case for selective censorship has now been confirmed, unless Titlest bans himself!

Are you done with your crying and playing the victim yet? I always forget how innocent you are.. you know, like your unsolicited attack on a poster in the basketball forum a couple days ago?
