2012 Spring Roster/Unnoficial Depth Chart

stoopid Q time...

position has something to do with the numbers available to a given player?

it does at the NFL level but not sure about college....

It matters for OL (50-79), not sure about any other positions.

According to NCAA rule book Section 4 Article 1 recommends numbering as follows for offensive players;
Backs 1–49
Snapper 50–59
Guard 60–69
Tackle 70–79
End 80–99

Otherwise all player must be numbered 1–99, the NCAA makes no stipulation on defensive players. Two players may also share the same number though they may not play during the same down.

The roster probably isn't 100 percent correct, but it's pretty close...

Plus there will be more players (walk-ons) joining the team come class time...

Thanks for the latest; still don't see a Caleb Harris listed. Is he a walk-on and then not on the roster until classes start?

At the cabin for the week and no access to a computer and unable to read the newest roster on my phone so will someone copy and paste it on here. Thanks in advance

Isn't he greyshirting?

I think you are right loyalgriz. (You usually have good info)

He stood-out in the Shrine game if you ask me. GREAT MOTOR and speed pass rush... just needs to add muscle, in my opinion, and a grey-shirt would do him wonders. I'm excited about him.

Two #11's, #13's, & #18's?

There's double #3's, #11's, #13's, and #18's because they are skilled position players and the Griz ran out of available skill position numbers.

The only numbers unassinged are:

50
55
57
59
60
64
98

Coach Delaney said he likes the OL depth, and went as far as to say that the Ol is the best since he has been here.

One side bar, watching the news last night cat qb dm responded to the question of how the thought his offense did in their final fall scrimmage, "I don't we did very well at all, to be honest with you."

Which is interesting considering this: http://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/app/msu-bobcats/?p=10703&utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=montana-state-looks-sharp-offensively-in-first-fall-scrimmage" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It sounds like DeNarius has extremely high expectations for himself and the offense this season. Good, isn't good enough.

He learned at the end of the regular season that good wasn't good enough when the Griz came to town and stomped them for the BSC Championship....and then when they msu narrowly escaped a 1st round playooff game...to only get thumped in the next one.

Sounds like from the news interview that he is finally learning that repsect is earned on the field, and not from the bozo media that proclaims them gods, which obviously are false beliefs.

sheesh.

i know this is a cat player here but give me a break. he's one of the most humble people you will meet. sure, i bet some cat fans might think he's a "god". most of us just think he's pretty damn good. give your own team some credit. you didn't come to bozeman and smash us 'cause DM sucks and doesn't know he needs to earn respect. you did it 'cause you had a great game plan, your defense dominated, and DM and our offense sputtered.

cat griz and all but geeze, be realistic and give your team their due.....

Hopefully he's not the only one who learned that.

Ignoring the irony of this statement, McGhee has always given great respect to opponents, and has never felt entitled to anything. If fact, he had a quote last fall camp that he was hoping to win the starting job over Grayson Galloway and Jake Bleskin.

"Hopefully he's not the only one who learned that." :thumb: By they way, I like DM.

I just wish the TV media in Bozeman would learn that. You would think the Bobcats are the greatest thing since oxegan, And moreover, they are constantly belittling the Griz, that's if they mention them at all that is. Talk about unprofessional and pitiful organizations...
