This seemed inevitable. He obviously wasn’t going to stay at Weber forever, and after he got passed up twice for Utah State he had to make this move. Plus he hit his peak at Weber. They’ll never be natty contenders, but they’re definitely quarter, semi capable.
It’s become more and more apparent that G5 schools are hesitant to hire FCS head coaches and prefer P5 coordinators, which BYU will be next year.
Jay Hills a great guy and a great coach. Hopefully this puts him in the drivers seat to get an FBS head job in a few years. Best of luck Coach Hill! Now let’s go get Weber’s Oline coach and a couple of their oline men!

Nope, Akey was at Weber back in the 90's. The coach before Hill was Jody Sears. He lasted two years and went 4-19. Believe it or not, Sears went on to Sac State. Before him, it was Ron McBride, who got the Wildcats into the playoffs in 2008 & 2009, but was otherwise meh (43-38).WaGriz4life said:

Not sure why Weber feels the need to appoint an interim as their season is over, but more power to them I guess. I have a hard time believing this guy is gonna get the full time gig considering he's only been at Weber for 1 season. They need to go outside the family IMO.
