Griz Football record watch

alabamagrizzly

Well-known member
Since Jerry has put the career receptions mark in his review, again(edit), I decided to see what other records might fall or how high will these guys make it in career rankings. After scanning the records books, here’s a list of players and stats to watch. I’ll update the numbers after each week.

(Edit)
After a couple weeks of record watching I decided to expand the record watch to an overall record book page. If the mods don’t mind keeping this pinned, I’ll gladly keep it updated.

Vs Monmouth on Sept 21st.

Dalton moved from 14th to 13th in yards and td’s passing Brent Pease(yrd) and Justin Roper(td). He moved back ahead of Craig Ochs for the single season completion percentage mark.

Jerry Louis-McGee passed Keenan Curran for 15th in receiving yards.

Dante moved from 31st to 27th in career tackles and to a three way tie for 26th in tackles for losses.

Malik Flowers moved into 2nd place, just behind Greg Anderson for the single season KR avg record and into 1st place for the career mark, as soon as he gets three more returns to make the min.

Robby Hauck obviously has more than half of his Griz career still in front of him but if he continues on the path he's on - and especially if he can up his numbers with the help of some playoff games in the next 3 years, he'll stand good chance to shatter the record for total tackles.

Imagine if Dante had been a starter during his freshman season!
His sophomore season was mostly special teams. He wasn't good enough to crack Semore's D.

As a freshman/sophmore the starters were Banks, Strahm, and Buss, not saying Olsen isn't as good or better than any of those players just saying there were some pretty good/older players in those roles. I didn't like Semore as a DC but it wasn't like he was sending dog crap out there each week. If you remember as a sophmoe Dante also saw quite a bit of duty as a stand up defender, playing right over the center in our pass rush packages.

Nice post. Thanks for the great info (& to the mods for the pin). Anything out there on records for rushing yards?

Updated after UC Davis game.

Dalton Snead moved from 13th to 12th in passing yards and TD’s passing Andrew Selle and Brent Pease.

Sammy Akeem moves into a tie for 15th in career TD receptions.

Jerry Louis-McGee moves to 22nd in career TD receptions.

Dante moved from 27th to 20th in tackles.

Barring injury, there are a couple of RS’s or true freshmen playing now that are going to eclipse the sacks record.

Here you go b, sorry about the late response.

Rushing Yards career

3rd 4,018 Lex Hilliard
4th 3,435 Jordan Canada
5th 2,228 Rocky Klever

Those top four guys were essentially our main RB’s from ‘99-‘14. That’s a Mt Rushmore of Montana RB’s for sure.

I remember Chase needing only 4 more yards to pass up Yo for yards. If Griz would of beat the Cats in 2010 and gone on to 1 playoff game he would of got it. Bummer.

Many thanks (and response time was just fine). A good 'add' to the already great list you compiled.
