Carson Rostad to LB?

From a source close to his family.

Not surprising considering the stable of QBs the Griz have…and Daniel Britt coming in from Nevada. Carson is very smart and a very physical player. I am sure he will do great at LB! Good luck, Carson!

At least give a try at QB? I was told by one of his former coaches, he has that "gamer" mentality-the high football IQ and instinct? I think it would be great for Carson and Daniel Britt to compete with each other for four years?

I would agree that it may be a little early to switch him. I would've given him one more year of development since last season was much different than a regular year and see where that got him and what trajectory he was on. I never got the chance to watch him play in high school but did he ever play defense? I'm sure he will excel at anywhere he is put but who knows when we will get confirmation of this "rumor". Roster hasn't been updated in quite a long time...

You are ignoring Kris Brown?

Wasn't Carson an all-state defensive player too? I thought he was, but may be mistaken. Andy Thompson was a high school QB who converted to a pretty good defensive player at UM. Isn't he now on the staff at NAU?

Andy is at Sac State.

Yes, Carson received All-State selection at both QB and SS both Junior and Senior years. Watched him play 3 times and not surprised by this move. Like I said above, he is very intelligent and can read a field instantly…both behind the ball at QB or attacking it on D. This might be a good opportunity for Carson.

I have been a big fan of his since his great high school years. I am friends with a coach whose team played Carson's in high school, and he thinks Carson will become a great college player, if Bobby can place him in the right position. Kinda like Graves, an incredible talent trying to find a position. We seem to be too deep at the safety position, when only two of them can play at one time. So much untapped talent riding the pines. Carson has the physical build to put on another 15-20 lbs and move to LB, where I think he could be great. We'll see how it all plays-out.

I don't see what the problem here is. The Bobcat model for whipping a horse into the ground 'til it's dead is a well utilized strategy.... QB/Linebacker hybrid is what I think the position is listed as

The Griz play with 3 safeties.

Curious how Robbie Hauck keeps his starting spot with guys like graves, Janacaro, Rostand, Turner and more, who are bigger, faster and more physical. I watched from the East stands as troy Anderson literally ran/stepped over the top of him for long gain in the epic second half meltdown of 2018. Just my opinion but we have better athletes who can better fill that spot.smh

I believe Graves is the only guy you mentioned who plays safety.

My point is you have all these athletes who are bigger and faster and they and have a 5-10 one hundred and nothing pounds playing there. Wasting talent from that recruiting class imho.

Not curious at all; he's one of the leading tacklers in the BSC. Tackles 2019 Griz: Olson 179, Lewis 131, Hauck 129, Robertson 72. Once again your lack of football knowledge is exposed.
