West Yellowstone Mt: West Yellowstone Highschool Field (Closest field to Brower’s Springs; the head waters of Hell Roaring Creek, which flows into the Red Rock, which flows into the Beaverhead, which flows into the Big Hole River, which flows into the Jefferson, which flows into the Missouri, which flows in to the Mississippi. Which makes it a logical homefield for a team that borders the Mississippi, sort of)

Attendance: Sold out, with lots of fans sitting on tailgates and ready to turn the truck around and use the headlights if she gets too dark out there to see the ball.

Best Food at the Tailgate: Texas, Oklahoma, or Kansas style BBQ’ed Rocky Mountain Oysters and Edibles.

West Miss
Strengths: big and aggressive offensive line, QB, great receiving corps, solid DT’s, and excellent return game.
Weaknesses: Not much experience at RB, slightly undersized at DE and outside of Joyce a very weak LB’ing corps. No kicker.

Oregon
Strengths: QB, phenomenal receivers, great depth at OT, very good LB’s, and great pass rushers at DE.
Weaknesses: Cornerback

Highlights
Both teams combine for over 1500 in total offense. Unable to run the ball against Dante Olson and friends, Craig Ochs is forced to throw on almost every down. Often using 5 WR’s West Miss exposes Oregon’s weakness at CB and Ochs puts up video game numbers.

Oregon are forced to change kickers at half time when Eby Dobson is chased from the West Yellowstone field by a large bull elk. Apparently, Dobson owed the elk some money from a failed business venture. When interviewed later by Montana Fish and Wildlife officers the elk was evasive saying only “He knows what he did.”

With an effective if unspectacular rushing attack Oregon are able to balance out their offense and keep Ochs off the field at least briefly. Oregon’s outstanding Ends; Corey Falls and Tyrone Holmes are able to get some pressure where as Oregon’s line was able to keep Jordan Johnson clean most of the day.

Despite the game being an aerial circus the winning points come when Mike Ehlers (a 7’0 high jumper for the Griz) uses the Fosbury Flop to clear the West of Miss line and secure the upset victory.

Post-game interview with All-American Samori Toure;
“Just like it says on the Nebraska License plates; going to Nebraska was the worst decision of my life.”

Sweet Jesus. I'd love to have been at this game! lol

I'm betting MONEY they had to turn the trucks around, given how long a game with that many forward passes takes to finish....

What…a…game! I have never felt so much excitement reading a scoring summary🤣. Ochs on full display with all those weapons! Luv it Sask. Can’t wait for the next game.

Holy siht Sask. Way too much time on your hands....but then....you are using it wisely and more important....very intertainally
