California vs ncaa

Things are going to get interesting very fast if the Calif legislature allows high school athletes and others, even academics, to be compensated for the use of their names and pictures. The NCAA has already said they would fight this, but I have a feeling they won't win. Maybe the era of "one and done" is over. But, the outcome will change college athletics as we know them. If players get compensated much beyond room, board, fees and tuition and books, plus a stipend, will economically shaky schools like UM or Idaho or others be able to continue to compete as they have until now?

I'm not worried. It's a matter of time, eventually there will be another higher division for NCAA athletics. That will be the schools and conferences that can afford those things. Montana will have plenty of company to still compete. If anything, it may give us better programs and a better conference to be part of.
