So frustrating for somebody who lives about a thousand miles from Missoula that for all the questions about this year's team, there has been almost nothing of substance on this board since practise began more than two weeks ago.

Is there anybody here who's seen a scrimmage? Got some inside information, or heard a rumor? Or has a vivid imagination and can make up something juicy?

Can you possibly imagine two weeks of football practise going by with nary a word on the football board?

Anything will do!

Maroon-Silver scrimmages a week away!

I heard there was a large herpes outbreak, then realized they were just laughing about CDA's latest bout with genital warts.

I have watched Montana practice for about a grand total of 22 minutes. They have been going at Dahlberg Arena a few times right at the same time Bobby Hauck holds his press conferences. My very brief impressions:

- This team is really young but very talented. You can tell Coach DeCuire is really grinding to get the young guys to learn how to practice right. The practices are not nearly as crisp as last season, which is to be expected when you replace four seniors with a bunch of freshmen.

- Timmy Falls has been riding the bike with a cast on his hand. Josh Vazquez has seen elevated reps running the show.

- Jared Samuelson is a polished post scorer.

- Kyle Owens is very confident. He also looks and talks just like Ludacris haha

That's about all I've caught but we will head down soon and really start absorbing the team. I'll be sure to check back soon.

Hell, I live right in town and I haven't heard anything of substance, so I appreciate Colter's response, too!

Jordan Gregory is back as a graduate assistant. just saw the tweet, if I knew how to post here I would.

Great interview with Jordan. But he's going to have to be pretty flashy to out-dress coach DeCuire on court.

Colter might be the only person kind of following hoops at the moment. I don’t think Missoulian has a UM hoops beat writer since Kyle Hansen left for MTN sports. UM sports information has not really been updating on anything so i agree the coverage has been bare. After the scrimmage it should pick up some.

Yo, PR! I got a good laugh out of this.

Imagine, the switch is flipped. You live here and I live in Missoula. It's August, the football team has been practising for two weeks. You PM me: "Hey, citay! Any news on the football team?"

"Yeah. I saw Bobby Hauck walking around That's all I got."

Ah, yes. The difference between football and basketball at Montana.....

You said you wanted "anything". I did my best. As I said in other thread, the Lady Griz looked pretty good in their scrimmage. On football, I can also say that I met Rick Neuheisal's son this summer with some of the UM football people. Think his name is Jack. Nice kid. See, I have football "news" too.

It is going to be a fun year. Well actually a fun few years! Go Griz!

Just to add... there'll be a Lady Griz scrimmage as well. I got the opportunity to watch a couple of practices and watched an intense, uptempo style of play. I was quite impressed with the conditioning and aggressive play of Emma Stockholm. Jamie Pickens very much a freshman, but a force inside. Wishing this team good health & good luck! Go Griz.
