Thanks to the University for naming the Court after Robin Selvig, the Arena after Jiggs Dahlberg and the entire Center after Harry Adams, Grizzly legends all. For not selling "naming rights" for a quick buck.

Can you imagine Passmore Gas Court at Bunghole Liquors Arena at Master Bait and Tackle Center?

Other schools can.

Totally agree. It's something to be proud of that we've never sold our corporate soul to the top $. But let's be honest:it's only because no big-$ sponsor has offered.

Too bad the University of Montana didn't put forth an application for patent on the 'mascot' Grizzlies. Am disappointed that Memphis of the NBA has the same 'mascot.' Like there's real live grizzlies wandering around the suburbs of Memphis, or something?

They were originally the Vancouver (Canada) Grizzlies - so it is a little more plausible possibly.

i agree. There are also few lakes in LA and not much Jazz in Salt Lake.

When New Orleans was the Hornets I thought they should trade names since Utah is the Beehive State.
