Lady Griz beat a tough Utah team 53 - 49 tonight.
Both Holly Tyler and Crystal Baird had double doubles tonight, with Tyler scoring 17 points and snaring 11 rebounds, Baird scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. Baird was MVP for the tournament.
Both Tyler and Baird started for the Lady Griz for the first time this year. I am thinking Selvig will stick with this lineup from now on as it works quite well.
Have to say Lady Griz played real well on defense. The Utes are the best defensive team in the division 1 basketball and they showed it against Mississippi State yesterday. 14th ranked Mississippi State is a high scoring team and Utah stopped them pretty good. So this win by Lady Griz is big.
Yesterday, both Baird and Tyler scored 16 points each with Baird supplying the offense at the key time as Lady Griz beat Texas Pan-American 60 - 50.
