I hope not! The Griz lost to Denver, 62-54. Criswell, Pederson, and Riddle combined to shoot a miserable 1-18. Criswell was 0-9, including 0-7 from 3 pt. land. Top two scorers, Horne and Bell, hit for 29 pts on 10-29 shooting. The bright spot? Chavez(11 pts) and Rosser(9 pts), combined to shoot 8-10 and grab 14 rebounds.

Difference between Road and Home games is that Criswell shoots very well at home, and not so well on the road. Other players have to step it up like Bell, Pederson, and Horne to make up for Criswell's poor shooting on the road. They did not do that yesterday. They did do it during Christmas break at Stanford and Loyola Marymount. Criswell wasn't as bad then as he was yesterday, but still didn't shoot as well as he does at home. Yesterday's game was certainly his worst.

Nice to see Chavez have a good game. Maybe this is the game where he finds himself and starts making an impact on the game.

Let's hope Mansell is back by the beginning of the conference season. We really missed him last night. DU's Pratt scored 29. He was primarily guarded by Mansell in DU's loss here earlier this season. He scored oly 8 in that game. I'm not sure that this team can do well without Mansell. He is a great defender and our best point guard by far. Let's also hope Mike Chavez can consistently perform like he did last night. He gives us toughness, scoring and rebounding inside. We need more of this in order to be successful in the Big Sky this season.
