There has been recent tweets by the CWU President that that have an upcoming offer from a DI conference. Since that President wants to upgrade their fb stadium, it can only mean the Big Sky as the WAC doesn’t sponsor FCS.
Dixie St just added 5000 seats to their fb stadium and they will surpass SUU for DI readiness.

When is Montana finally going to say no more commuter schools or overgrown JC’s and change conferences?
Take the Bobkitties, the Spuds and Weber with you and move to the Summit. IPFW and W Ill won’t put up with traveling west and leave of their own accord. The New Summit would be a conference of glory as far as academics and athletics and even has DI fan bases, all of which the Big Sky lacks. The Summit can start sponsoring football then, and be the greatest FCS conference in the land. Even FBS is not out of the question.
There is even a rumor that Air Force would move its Olympic sports if it puts fb in the American. The MVC turned them down.
This is your chance, Montana. But knowing how you screw up almost every other decision, you will screw up now too. Just stay in the low minors while other schools with dreams like Boise, Nevada, and Gonzaga far surpass you.
It will be only a few short years until Carrol College enters the Big Sky and you’ll have another fierce rivalry.
When will Griz fans demand a change?

You have not made a case that this pie in the sky would benefit Montana in any way. Do you really think the fanbase wants to play its away games over 1000 miles to the east? Missouri St., wow! Our key recruiting areas are on the Left Coast. Carroll, no, we'll wait for Rocky Mountain College - a better bet. Another Petrino HC....UNDfan wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:28 pm There has been recent tweets by the CWU President that that have an upcoming offer from a DI conference. So Portland St and Sac State have brought throngs of fans to Missoula? NAU brought their three fans too. The case against Big Sky schools writes itself. Those big universities are often 1000 miles away and have just a sad array of Jr High facilities. Portland St Fb was assigned to a suburban HS stadium just goes to show anyone paying attention that Carroll has more fb pride.kemajic wrote: ↑Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:03 amYou have not made a case that this pie in the sky would benefit Montana in any way. Mo St is in the MVC so obviously you don’t have a clue about conferences or geography.

The true mystery is why Montanans don’t have a major aversion to most Big Sky schools. You should have separation anxiety in reverse but you don’t. Just love beating the crap out of Sac St, Portland St, the Bengals and NAU I guess. You are who you hang with.
And unlike the MWC, which you haven’t the money to hang with, the Summit is a step up and you can actually afford it.

Big Sky was a good conference before The Sioux joined and better when the Hawks left. Change names change conferences...grass is always greener.UNDfan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:22 amThe true mystery is why Montanans don’t have a major aversion to most Big Sky schools. Pretty easy really. The possible benefits of moving to the Summit for football are not nearly adequate enough to make the move worthwhile.

You're right, I don't have a clue about your mythical conference of glory since you don't list it nor do I have a clue about the Summit, since I'm a college football fan. Just presumed it to be in the same neighborhood as the MVFC, too far east to be of interest. At least football is played in the BSC and I just counted seven (more than half) BSC teams currently ranked above UND, including NAU at #18 which you are slamming.UNDfan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:16 amSo Portland St and Sac State have brought throngs of fans to Missoula? Travel alone would drain our athletic budget with little or no financial gain. It's hard to get in and out of western montana.

UNDFan never ceases to disappoint....he's got it allllll figured out, just ask him. He's apparently in the locker rooms and board rooms of every piss-ant college west of the Appalachians and knows EXACTLY what they'll do...witness his prediction of IPFW & W Ill just "leaving of their own accord" if mighty Montana shows up. How could he know that unless he's got well placed sources inside the institution?UNDfan wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:28 pm There has been recent tweets by the CWU President that that have an upcoming offer from a DI conference. UND, your pie-in-the-sky scenarios get weirder and less plausible each and every year, but you never disappoint. You're like hurricane season returning every year...

Uhhhhh......Nope! Big fish in a small pond versus guppy in a shark tank. That's the FCS versus FBS comparison for our Griz. And how about the playoffs? PLAYOFFS?! Playoffs! I'll take the FCS Playoff system versus playing in the Beef-O-Brady Bowl any fricking day. And who gives even one shit about how many opposing fans come to OUR stadium. We ain't got room for those losers anyway....it's full of Griz fans.
