Not certain if this topic deserves a unique thread. I'm thinking primarily staff departures and additions, because I've heard there may be as many moves as last season.

Anwyay, here goes: I've heard that Idaho has made a solid selection for its new head hoops coach.

Velaida Harris resigns as Weber State women's hoops coach.

Danny Sprinkle sounds like one of the favorites for the NMSU job. He must really want out of Bozeman if he really wants to make a run at this job. That’s a terrible job!

Maybe looking for a raise?

Plenty of other jobs you can get a raise at. Maybe he thinks if he can turn that dumpster fire program around that’ll put him in line for a high profile P5 job. That’s not the first job I would take.

Really interesting hire for Idaho. It’s definitely not the flashy, big name P5 assistant hire that many programs have become accustomed to making recently, but I like the hire! He’s a younger guy who has both previous head coaching experience along with some familiarity with the Big Sky during his time at EWU. Spent the last 4 seasons at Seattle turning that program around so he knows the prime recruiting areas. I think this is gonna work out for Idaho. It may take him a year or 2, but the Vandys should be much improved!

Well considering the scats hadn’t finished above .500 in 10 years before he got there and he owns a 65% winning percentage in just four years, I’d say he’s done that there.

Would have been considered a better job than most BSC places (including MSU) a few years ago, but the place is a dumpster fire now. Was a relative frequent attender in the NCAA tournament. Think maybe aside from perception and pay, MSU is a better place at this moment. Gonna take some time to fix NMSU after the last two or three years.

Might be a better pathway for Sprinkle to land a power 5 job, which is his goal I believe, but outside of that there aren't many positives about taking a sideways move like that.

This is noted elsewhere, but I felt it appropriate to group all men's and women's hoops moves in one thread.

Sac State's Mark Campbell hired by TCU. https://hornetsports.com/news/2023/3/21/womens-basketball-campbell-steps-down-at-sacramento-state-to-become-head-coach-at-tcu.aspx

Looks like Jason Hooten is the clear front runner. He and his family are in Las Cruces for 2 days.
