Thank you for putting this together! This is an absolutely great resource.

Very excited about so much work being done to add depth on the defense and o-line.

Thanks for work on this. So many players out there. It’s crazy

I disagree. We got plenty of untapped talent in the QB room for years to come. DT is a far bigger concern in my view. We have a grad Sr who’s transferred in, playing in a 3 down lineman set for the first time, a couple of very undersized converted DE’s, and a young highly touted but apparently not ready natural DT. We need a big body with a couple years to play far more then we need another QB to take more practice reps from the guys we got.
"untapped talent' in the QB room. If they has untapped talent, they'd be starting. Hilarious!

What question is that?
You said that Hauck 2.0 consistently does not have a solid o-line and you said anybody worth their jock knows that is important. So my question is; since we made it to the National Championship game with what you have said is not a solid o-line; do you believe O-line is over rated or that with a better o-line Coach Hauck's team would have won a national title?

Are you really trying to take the position that we have had good o-lines during Hauck 2.0? This topic has been discussed over-and-over on egriz, with lots of calls for Germer to be replaced, both for his lack of recruiting good O-linemen and for being unable to coach them when they get here.

Last season, the O-line was improved over Hauck's first 4 seasons, but it still was a far cry from the dominant O-lines we used to have nearly every season during the glory years. Our O-line during that time was usually the best in all of FCS football, and we routinely had linemen playing in the NFL. It also should be noted that last season we had three o-line starters who were FBS drop-downs, so Bobby did not recruit those kids.

And, our 2023 line was still making McDowell run for his life much of the time, and our running game was far from what anyone would call a great running game. In comparison, both the Cats, NDSU, and SDSU had much better O-lines that we did.

If you are honest, we were able to get to the NC game because of four reasons....1) our defense was our strong point....2) Bergen's ST play.... 3) a HUGE home field playoff advantage.... 4) a great deal of luck in both the Furman and NDSU playoff games (remember the Immaculate Reception ?)

I'm not trying to take any position. I wanted to know your opinion and I think now I have it.

You appear to be taking the position that since according to you "both the Cats, NDSU, and SDSU had much better o-lines that we did." and we beat two of those three teams, o-line is not as important as many people think.

I don't feel the need to comment on the remainder of your post as you've already gotten your ass handed to you concerning that.

But I will address the bolded statement. Why was that play "luck"? Instead, what it really was was an extremely intelligent play by a well-coached player on one end, and a fantastic athlete on the other. Junior knew he had a free play because of the facemask, so he took a chance and threw into coverage since no bad could come from it. White showed amazing athletic skills and remarkable concentration to catch it off the deflection. None of that constitutes luck. But I suspect you know that.
