Was McDowell a Top 25 FCS QB Last Year?

People always talk about Playoff Cliff like he was terrible. Look at his numbers in the Furman game. We don't win that game without him, even with Bergen's ridiculous performance
Against SDS, 2 yards gained. I think 13 carries. 160 yards passing with no td’s and 1 pick (ens If half). 4 sacks.

I’ve spent the last month or so wondering why so many posters have had so many negative things to say about Clifton since he left. We had a physical and durable QB who got us to the NC. He left. It’s OK to be bummed that he left. We don’t have to try to manufacture reasons why he’s not very good. Some posts I’ve read in the various threads have even teetered on “good riddance” which is fucking stupid. The spring game thread wasn’t encouraging in the QB department.

I love almost everything about our fan base, but one thing than can get annoying at times is the gatekeeping when it comes to players who may not seem like a typical “Montana Kid”. I’ve mentioned it before, but if some of you are honest with yourselves, you’d admit your opinions about Clifton would be much different if his name was Klaydin or Colten from Ruffneck HS in Burlap, MT.

😄

Evidently, contrary to his op, he DID "know", but was just looking for an argument.

I have never met a Klaydin. But I'm sure he would be from Burlap not Ruffneck.

Here's a question: Let's say McDowell would have transferred within the Big Sky Conference. What schools would he for sure start at?

I think there's only a couple where he would for sure be the guy, particularly if he was walking into a situation where the offense wasn't designed around his skills based on both necessity and the offensive leanings of the head coach. For example, Cliff would not start at Idaho State. Jordan Cooke is way more suited to run Hawkins' 45+ throws a game offense.

Hey, pal, Klaydin is from Burlap. Ruffneck is the name of the HS. His uncle and I played baseball together at Sandpaper HS back in ‘95. They called us the 10 Grit Boys. Good kid, strong family, deep Montana ties, made up name. He checks all boxes.

A parent told me “good riddance”.

To bad there isn't a University of North Idaho, then maybe everything would be alright with world.

I was making a statement, not answering a question. I said I don’t know about top 25 and still don’t. You and Everett are nonsensical.
I didn't say you were answering a question, I said your statement didn't answer what you asked. You moved the goal posts, IMHO.

Whether you'd take some healthy former QB (most of us would, BTW) over McDowell has zero bearing on whether he was a top 25 QB LAST year so I'm not sure why you'd post that in this thread....seems somewhat...nonsensical.
