2008 Recruiting List Part 3

Postby Paytonlives » Mon Dec 31, 2007 9:02 pm

I started a new Topic only because the first 2 parts are getting hard to follow. These players have been verified as Montana Grizzly Verballs/Walk-ons for 2008

List of those that will sign/Walk-On at UM.

Cady, Tyzer RB/Ath Colstrip, MT 6-0 180 ???

Raymond DeBruycker DE Raymond Choteau, MT 6-3 195

Gratton, Sam WR Billings, MT 6-1 195 4.5

Hardy, Greg Ath Fairview, MT 6-5 240 ???

Hulse, Matt DT Chandler, AZ 6-4 260 5.0 (2 star)

Lisowski, Donny S/DB Seattle, WA 5-11 180 4.5

Lebeau, Blake OL Union City, CA 6-5 270 5.3 (2 star)

Stuberg, Josh WR,DB Helena, MT 6-2 185 4.59 (1 star)

Donaldson, Beau RB Missoula, MT 6-2, 223

Moore, Dan RB Tuscon, AZ 5-11 210 4.6 (2 star)

Hernon, Nick DE Castle Rock, CO 6-2 217 ??? (1 star) Some debate wether its UM or Northern Colorado

Also Recruit Mike Cummings is coming to Missoula for a visit on Jan 19. Its his only scheduled visit and he would be a really good catch for the Griz. He is 6'1" and runs a 4.59 (scout timed). He also had 8 Ints as DB this last season.

Also has been rumored that 2 UM coaches are in Tennessee looking at a QB. bigtyme has been correct in the past.

bigtyme wrote:Just so you guys know, our coaches are in Tennessee right now looking at a QB that has been highly recommended by Jeff Fisher. Both Hauck and Phenecie are there working on bringing this kid to UM to play. I guess having Jeff Fisher as a liaison to UM is not such a bad idea. And look for Sarah Ena's brother to possibly make a cross state move to play football for the Griz. Their dad was a stud at WSU and the son wants to go follow the sister's footsteps as apparently she is enjoying her success in Missoula. I don't know if this has been mentioned on here because I got tired of sifting through all the garbage, but FYI. Looking forward to the results.

Sorry that my posts have slowed down. Its partially because its a dead recruiting time and partially because I am moving. Ill try to keep up with it all.
I would rather see the griz be 6-5 or 5-6 in the MWC or WAC then continue to beat the crap out of Vikings, Hornets, Lumberjacks, Eagles, Bears, Bengals and Eastside Kitties. Its time for UM football to take the panties off... and compete with the best...

This list will be helpful, but is by no means the only players Griz coaches are looking at.

NICK HERNON

Rivals says UM
http://wyoming.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=57857

Scout says Northern Colorado

He says:
What will the main factors be when you choose a school?
"Location (that would be NCU) and football program (That would be UM)."

Thanks Payton for all you do - keeping this info as up-to-date as possible. Some interesting things I see on the scout.com site:

QB Nick Green, an option QB was dropped from a 3 star to a two star, wonder why?

Griz have offered another WR, Ryan Misare, however he's got offers from Washington, Wazzu and Arizona to name a few. At 6-4 and running a 4.6 it looks like this guy could compete for a year or two of playing time at the FBS levels. It's too bad, he could probably come here and play 3-4 years and really rip up the conference. Guess we'll see...

looks like Hernon is going to UNC. Scout updated yesterday and Rivals has had theirs up for a while. However they did mention during the state championship game on tv that he was going to Montana so who knows.

ANDREI LINTZ

Ht: 6-4 Wt: 220 40: 4.67
Position: TE, DE

Is coming to Missoula for a visit on Jan 26th. Interesting because he was offered by WSU and took a trip there allready. Probably came before the coaching change

I thought he was going to WSU on the 12th. If he still takes the trip to UM after going to WSU I like the Griz chances. :twocents:

QB recruiting must really be in the sh^ts if the staff is going all the way to Tennessee to look at an unranked one star with no offers. TN is probably the most expensive place in the country to get to from Montana. Just bringing that up since we're all so worried about the precious budget.

Well, Bobby's lack of ability to recruit at that position is well documented. If he's going to go down, he may as well go down in flames.

I would take Jeff Fisher's word over your ideology any day. Selle's talent YTBD, Bergquist has been good, Washington was not recruited, Swogger was not recruited, Larson walked on YTBD, Stapp only disappointment thus far. Your argument is weak!

uh, if he is the kid he made TN Super 44 all state team. That combined with a recommendation from Jeff Fischer would lead me to believe this is NOT something we should b!tch about. That is unless they used your credit card to buy the plane tickets.

Good post, I would say too that Stapp is also YTBD - he's not had much of a chance being 3rd string these last two years and in 2007 he was just coming back off a shoulder operation of some sort and wasn't throwing the ball through most of the summer & fall camp. 2009 will be interesting to see if he or Selle wins the starting job once Cole has graduated.

Bobby must think Cole is the best we have...

I was thinking with our first three games last fall that we would see others get a chance...not to be

My hope is that spring ball will be open competition at all positions including QB

Well, Stapp hasn't seen the field because he is fourth string behind two freshman. There's a reason he hasn't played and it's because he's determined to be a lousy quarterback. He'll never start a game in his UM career, and doesn't even run the scout team. He's 4th string, and that's only because Hauck hasn't brought in a 5th QB yet. I don't know how anyone can say he's anything more than a complete waste of a scholarship.

I had high hopes for Clint when he was a freshman.

He's not a waste of schlorship...he helped Win a game by grabbing a wayward snap on a field goal....

I think I agree with you- he seems really quick and athletic.

I feel he needs to be ont he field somewhere, maybe as a WR for those little counter/end around type plays, WR passes, etc.

He seems like he has gamer written all over him, but may never get his shot at QB.
