TM is the best we've got.

One thing I think I've figured out is that nobody is more interested in playing the best player than the coaches. Their livelihood and professional reputation depend on it. They see the players practice each day and carefully track their effectiveness. If there was a better quarterback than TM on the roster, there is no doubt in my mind he'd be in the game.

The odd part of this debate is that the real question that might be asked is why there seems to be a lack of depth at the quarterback position?

Excellent point/question. The U should not be in that position, regardless of the JJ situation.

Wait...why are you talking about Miami on a Montana board?

Born and raised in Montana bub. I just recognize that when most people say "The U", they mean Miami. You must have never left the state to not understand that.

Most people?

You mean the meat-heads introducing themselves on Monday night football? Give me a break.

Any true Montanan knows that "the U" is the university of Montana.

I wouldn't expect a Cat fan like yourself to understand...

By most people, I mean the average American.

Also, I'm a Cat fan? Never have been, never will be.

What a bunch of horseshit and hooey. We are the Griz. Sure, locally we may be the U, and maybe we attend or graduated from the U, but that is what is called a colloquialism. Go anywhere else and tell someone you root for the U, and they will think you are a Miami fan. Don't be an idiot and tell folks who have most likeley lived here much longer than you that they aren't "true Montanans".

Bullshit! MOST people do not refer to the University of Miami when they say the "U". Not a single person I have EVER met says it. I grew up in Missoula but have lived many different places and literally have never heard anyone say it so don't say the "average American" is refering to the University of Miami when they say the "U". Some people use it that way.

Okay? I'm confused. Are you upset because I said people call Miami the U or because I said UM isn't the U? Either way, get a little perspective.

The "U" is the University of Minnesota, if you've ever spent time in or near Minnesota.

I have never heard Miami referred to as the U. Learn something everyday.

In Montana, I think most people would know one is talking about the University of Montana if one referred to the U.

Anyone who hasn't heard Miami called the U has not watched the player introductions in the NFL, hasn't watched sports center, and hasn't watched college football for the last 25 years.

Agreed. Type in "The U" to Google and the first three things are about the University of Miami. Also there is a documentary called "The U" that is about the University of Miami. When I hear "The U", the first thing that comes to my mind is the University of Miami. But I believe most schools that are the University of ______ refer to themselves as the U at times.

The offficial website of the U of Minnesota calls itself as the U. Open the link.

"LOCATION: With a flagship campus in the heart of the Twin Cities, and four coordinate campuses across Minnesota, the U offers just the right learning environment for every student.

WHAT IT OFFERS: One of the nation’s largest schools, the U offers baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in virtually every field—from medicine to business, law to liberal arts, and science and engineering to architecture.

HEADCOUNT: A testament to its growing prominence and appeal, the U’s enrollment has reached 64,964 but a 16-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio ensures plenty of attention."

Looks like you watch too much tv. You need to get out in the world a bit more. Ha-ha.

In Washington "The U" is UW
In Wyoming "The U" is UW
In Oregon "The U" is UO
In Colorado "The U" is CU
In Michigan "The U" is UM

No one, except for hardcore football junkies, affiliate the term "The U" with Miami.
