New Topic: Game vs. UNC TONIGHT!

one thing about the game tonight.. why when cherry is shoting 16 percent from 3 for the year.. Tinks
still lets him shot it from there? he was zero for three again tonight. that is a coaching error.

that is my only negative.. Let go Griz

did Jack get hurt?..//he ony played a few minutes

go PSU tonight

Jack got in quick foul trouble. Selvig and Banny were very effective though. Has anyone heard how Raason is? He played well tonight until he got hurt and the Griz will need him tomorrow.

Raason twisted his ankle and it looked terrible in slow-motion. I imagine he will be sore tomorrow, but if he gets into the game I bet he forgets all about it after a few trips up and down the floor.

Thanks for the education on Altitude II. They apparently don't have it here in Belgrade with Bresnan, at least not that I can see. Reason I said it was being preempted was that the Bresnan Guide said it would be the BS Semifinal game. Oh well!

Nice that the Weeb game is getting pre-empted here in MT by the Avalanche game. Lame. oh well!

The game is on altitude II (altitude alternate channel). Defensive battle, both teams playing very tight.

I only caught the last 10 minutes of the semifinal, but will watch it from the dvr, and hope to give some insight on the game.

I have said all year Will Cherry is special, has "it", and just shines in the clutch. The kid is outright amazing. It is like he was born to make clutch big game changing/saving plays. He is willing to do it all, and does do it all. Including having improved his FT shooting. i will not be surprised if he becomes a 75% FT shooter by the time he graduates. We will miss AJ, but Cherry is so ready to take the reigns over. He will not let the GRIZ ever be average. Cherry's development and improved perimeter shooting is the reason why the GRIZ are where they are at now. Cherry will begin a long line of great true PG's for the GRIZ.

AJ, Cherry, and defense lead the GRIZ to the big dance!!!!!!!!!!!! Basically this team has been slowly growing in every aspect the last few years. This year we have witnessed the blossoming of what is sure to be a great program. Next year that blossom sprouts, and soon those sprouts take form. I think GRIZ basketball is on its way to being special again. Maybe even ahead of what I thought earlier this year.
You are so right....with Cherry and Kareem, next year is going to be something special for UM...

I am excited about Autry, Reader, and Hutchison too. Also Young looks like he is starting to get it now. I think he could be a larger contributor next year. He has played nicely the last few weeks with a few more minutes. Just hope he is healthy. That looked like a high ankle sprain or deeply bruise high ankle/lower leg to me. I will be surprised to see him back tomorrow night.

Well, no matter what happens tomorrow night, next year is going to be a good one for UM fall or winter....Good to be a Griz!

Qvale needs to wake up, or put stick um on his hands.
He isn't the only one...what's with the McGillis kid? not having a good night..

McGillis actually played very well in the short time he was in the game. He had 3 rebounds and 2 points in 4 minutes. He had the first 2 points for the Griz off an offensive rebound. He had 2 of the first 3 rebounds of the game for the Griz. He helped set the aggressive tone for the Griz, including the strong rebounding performance, including on the offensive boards.

He played so little because he picked up 2 quick fouls, and then a quick 3rd foul at the start of the second half.

At least, he'll have fresh legs tonight. I like the attitude, aggressiveness and hustle he brings.

Good game for the Griz. They played hard throughout and made some plays at the end when it counted. The near-meltdown when UNC came back was scary. Cherry really does like the "big" plays and showed it late. I was surprised by their coach's contention that reffing played a factor down the stretch. The off ball call that put AJ on the line was about the 3rd foul of the sequence by Bonner that one time down. We then took a one point lead after he made two. That didn't decide the game. Will's shot about sealed it. I thought both teams showed well for the Big Sky and didn't see anything from Weber that makes me think we can't beat them.

McGillis....did he really play "good" while he was in? Three relatively dumb fouls in 4 minutes of play. He may be a key tonight as Griz will need perimeter defense against Weber. At the rat he was going last night he'd have fouled out in abot 7 minutes. We need him for more than that tonight.

Go Griz......make some of us fickle fans (yes, I'm one at times) eat our words tonight on national TV.

McGillis quick fouls allowed several things to happen that were beneficial to the Grizzlies last night. It allowed for more playing time for Banny and he responded exceedingly well like he has done in the past and he was a monster on the glass. Also,it allowed for Selvig and Qvale to be on the floor at the same. This created matchup problems for Colorado and Selvig is also one of our best passers into the post that we have and also a long ball threat when needed. It also gave Young minutes in a big game that will be valuable for him as his career matures. However, McGillis needs to play smarter and avoid the overly aggressive fouls that have taken him out of games in the past. We need him for forty minutes and not four minutes like he played last night.

No heart. Absolutely no heart of a champion.

Boy, how f***ed up are you?

Gotta admit (or at least to me it seemed to be the culprit) that the way the first half went, it was due mostly to intensity and focus (ie. lack of aggression and turnovers). Good thing, though, AJ had enough heart for the entire state of Montana in the 2nd.
