Anthony Johnson nominated for ESPY Award
Anthony Johnson, a standout senior guard for the Montana men's basketball team this past winter, has been nominated for an ESPY in the category of best (individual) championship performance. He and his wife, Shaunte, will attend the ESPY's on July 14 in Los Angeles. The event will be broadcast live on ESPN at 7 p.m. MST. Voting for the ESPY's is done online by the fans.

For more information, read Bill Speltz's story in Friday's edition of the Missoulian.

It's going to be a l-o-n-g time before we see a star like AJ at Montana again.

We will have our stars with the young talent we have now, but may never have a wing scorer again like AJ. Time to go vote now. :thumb:

I voted for him a few times, but going against Brees??? Good Luck with that... But he will get his 15 seconds of fame, and I hope they show clips from the game

I did not see the award for best championship performance in last night's telecast but I did see today that Drew Brees won the award. It appears that AJ did come in second in the balloting based on the posting I saw. Way to go Anthony and good luck. I understand that the Miami Heat are looking for a shooting guard. Give Pat Riley a call and see what you can work out.

They revealed that particular award during the hour and a half "preview" of the ESPY's. And, yes, they did show a few quick clips of the game. They didn't really "gush" about it, but gave the usual run-down - AJ lead MT back from 20 points, he broke Big Sky record, yadayadayada. That being said, it was pimp seeing AJ get his due on National TV again!! :thumb: :D
