Time for the freshman to step up?

I have heard that JC recruit Idris Lasisi has enrolled at North Idaho junior college for next season. The Griz have been known to place kids at N. Idaho (& Sheridan for that matter) so I do not know if he could bounce back for 2011-12 year, but apparently he had a few qualifying issues (remember he is a foreign player). This should put even more pressure on the incoming freshman especially Autry to step up their game and be ready to contribute next season.

This does open a scholarship that the Griz could fill still but at this late date they may just hold it until next year. Earlier this week I had heard that N. Arizona had signed a pretty good small forward out of California for the coming year. My source told me that it came down to NAU the Griz and a third school before he selected NAU. So apparently they still may be looking for a player.

thanks for the update MslaCat... wow we are scary young in the backcourt. Talented, but really young. Cherry came in as a true Frosh and was a leader so that eases my concern just a bit, and Stockton is steady out there. Really our youth all over the floor is a bit troubling, I would expect some major peaks and valleys throughout the season, especially early on.

The Griz went light a scholarship last season and I think it cost us in terms of being thin at the post. Assuming there is still time to bring in a quality recruit, I hope they use the extra schollie if it really is available and Lasisi truly is out (at least for the upcoming season).
