Any chance you could bold the ones that are most recently updated? I kind of lose track when they just get inserted with everyone else in your list.

Great idea.... I bolded and underlined the newest additions

Half the teams in the Big Sky would kill for that Cerritos stadium/field. :(

It sure would, but then again, UNLV might need a skinny DE that gets runover by East Coast maulers... beware.

Another MT boy we would have had a shot at if we were FBS and played an interesting OOC schedule.

I wonder how often a recruit picks a WAC school (minus Boise) over a Pac-10 scholarship? I can't imagine it's very often.

Having a shot at it and getting the recruit "very often" are two different things. The latter was not claimed. However, Dwan Edwards went to OSU from class B Columbus and he has said often that had he had an FBS opportunity in MT he would have loved to played here. He has strong loyalties; he runs free summer football clinics in Billings every year. It would not take too many Dwan Edwards to make the Griz strong contenders at the next level.

Hard to put actual numbers on how many recruits in state we would gain, but it would give us a better shot. I wonder if Matt Miller stayed if we played at a higher level?

Apparently the level of competition wasn't a big deal since he, for some reason, turned down Stanford to go play on the smurf. Arkansas too.

There can be a lot of reasons for not choosing Arkansas over the other two, but I would guess he preferred to stay in the NW. There has been nothing special about the competition within the Pac10 lately. BSU has beaten up on them and the MWC as a whole is .500 in interconference games with the Pac10 in recent years.

No.

Miller almost certainly saw the Stanford admissions package, got scared and promptly accepted the Community college offer now known as Boise state University. A lot of recruits like to throw the Stanford name around but not many are enthusiastic on finishing the 2 essays needed to apply.

If you're not going to the NFL and have a real chance of going to a PAC 10 school you should go. BSU just doesn't measure up. Boise is the college the divorced wife attends after her PAC 10 educated husband dumps her for a trophy wife.
