interesting factoid on Nick Holt:
When your great-grandfather is a movie superhero, you likely would have inherited some extra powers. New Montana recruit Nick Holt VI is the great-grandson of actor and Olympic swimming star Buster Crabbe. Crabbe won gold at the 1932 Olympics in the 400 meter medley, and then had a successful career playing Flash Gordon in the movies.
[/quote] No kidding. Buster was one... the Ape Man" back in 1932. Oh yeah. D-O-N-G.

Sunday is the last day of recruiting.... IE players can be on campus and then its all quiet until Wendesday. I hate this waiting period, but can you imagine how it is for the coaches?

NOTHING is done until the players fax in their signatures.....

OregonPreps has

WR Mitch Carmen 6'2" 180 Eugene, Oregon (Sheldon HS) (Lindenwood)

So what happened to Carmen's QB step brother Dillon Miller? Just last week Oregonpreps had these two headed as a team to a DII school.

And that D-II school is Lindenwood. I don't think anything has changed there, has it?

Here is the Rivals story on Ryan Johnson... says he will be a DE.

In more breaking news from WashingtonPreps.com comes the story of Ryan Johnson of Mountain View who just declared his intentions.

Next season the tough nosed defensive end will take his talents to Missoula and play in the Big Sky. Another great local hook up for the Grizzlies who have made mush of their success on kids from the Evergreen State!

He is 100% committed but where will he play?

"Defensive End," he said emphatically.

And what led to him becoming a Grizzly? What were the reasons he ended up there?

"I went up to a game this year and loved the atmosphere and the football they played. I really like the coaching staff too they're a great group of guys," he added. "I'm just super excited to be a part of it now!"

So how does a kid from an under recruited area like Vancouver, Washington make it to a place like Montana?

"My High School coach really helped out a lot getting my name out there throughout the recruiting process," he expressed.

There were a couple more things he added.

"I also really think that having a State playoff caliber team and a good senior year really helped out a lot as well."

And there was the placement on our recruiting lists last season which we send out to every coach in the Nation Free of Charge.

"I think what you guys are doing is making a huge difference. There are so many D-1 kids coming out now. I know that a lot of it has to do with your efforts," he said thanking us.

While we will never know for sure there is not doubt that the thousands of stories and lists we publish after careful consideration over the last 8 years has spread the word about kids we always knew could make it.

Kids just like Ryan Johnson. Well we are off to camp again today to watch the next crop. Look for a full report on the State's best Juniors coming our this week!

He visited UM on Dec 12th... figured he must have a UM offer (expensive to fly a recruit in to not have one.)

Wonder if it got pulled? Either way, it's decisions like this that completely baffle me.
