Several replacement candidates mentioned, McElwain was one; Choate wasn't.

This cannot be true. How could a PAC 12 program pass on a coach with a .560 career winning percentage and absolutely zero championships of any kind?

So true!

This dufuss has done nothing but improve his record each year, take his team to the deepest playoff run since the mid 80’s and dominate their rivalry with UM.

No way an FBS program would take a look at this steaming pile of shat.

I could see him getting a shot at a mid-level FBS job after a couple more winning seasons. Not PAC 12, and not right now, after two whole winning seasons. It almost seems like you disagree, and I am fine with that. Have a great day!

No, I completely agree, just being a smart ass. He is not there yet, not by a long shot.

Just want him out of Bozeman sooner rather than later!

Cheers.

Except for 4 straight state titles :thumb:

Exactly. Everyone knows that FCS rivalry records are probably the most important metric that PAC 12 Athletic Directors consider in making hiring decisions. :D

Walkon you might be right. Washington State is rather like Montana State. The most important thing in each program is beating their in state rivals. Neither does it very often so Choate's 4 year win stretch is like being repeat Super Bowl champions. If Choate could do that at Wazzu winning over the Huskies they'd rename their stadium and build a 100 foot statue of him.

Too bad the job fell through.

Wrong! The most important thing at MSU is winning another national championship period. Getting to the semis this year was another step toward that goal.

Incorrect. The poster on the wall of the equipment shed reads as follows:

"PERENEAL GOALS
1. Beat the Griz
2. Winning Season
3. Make the Playoff
4. Win a share of the BSC Champoinnship
5. Honor the Universtity
7. Half Fun"

Any video proof of that.

Can't really make out what's going on in that with any certainty.

It says it is from a championship game, but I was only 8 at the time, and didn't think they had TV back then...

Definitely not color TV. No giant M on the Cats’ helmets, royal blue and yellow uniforms...
The whole thing seems doctored to me.

Kind of looks like a high school game.
