16 LSU players were invited to the NFL Combine this year.

Jabril, and the rest of college football players, will be fortunate if there is a college football season in 2020. The chance that all sports remain cancelled is higher than most of us would like to admit.

I think you are spot on.

I know there has been several meetings held with athletic directors. I can’t speak to who all was involved. I just know that in regards to MSU, our administration fully believes there will be football this season. Obviously things could change in a second but as of now, many people in important positions expect there to be sports.

Unfortunately it seems like a relevant time to bump my post from early April. It shouldn't surprise anyone that we are in this position today. America could have hardly done a worse job managing the virus up to this point. An epic failure of national leadership and governance.

Good try, but the governance is at the state level.

Only because of Congressional inaction and the abject failure of the Trump administration to lead (as long as we’re engaging in political commentary).

So far, only the socialist northern European countries have seemed to guess right. This doesn't mean theirs' was the only strategy that worked, more likely that a unified strategy across the country was what worked.

i see you are lurking again, waiting to derail threads by posting political stuff. as for governance, it is at the state level, especially for for a pandemic facing an entire nation. except of course when it isn't convenient for trump et al... then he is all powerful.

AllWeatherFan nailed it. This entire time we've had a federal govt that not only denies the problem but utterly refuses to lead and do its job. The numbers don't lie. The countries that have successfully managed the virus have done so with strong national leadership and plans based on science, not politics. This is all so frustrating and disappointing for everyone affected because it didn't have to be this way.

I just read Payton’s request to not post political views to this board. I digress. But damn it’s hard because these issues are all so inextricably linked together.

Go Griz!

Really Kem? The 50 state governors are responsible for the nation’s stockpile preparedness and the defense production act? For closing international border crossings, for testing failures at the CDC? For constant misinformation from the Whitehouse? For coordinating a national lock down and reopening? For testing and tracing and developing a vaccine? So your view is next time Houston floods or a hurricane hits Florida, or Montanas forests starts to burn up, Abbott, DeSantis and Bullock are on their own to figure it out? Well fuck that noise.

I am an American and when a pandemic strikes my homeland and threatens my family and my way of life I expect my president and our government to defend and protect us and defeat this virus, with whatever means necessary, not 50 amateurs with 50 different agendas who have no training or expertise in pandemic response, like the federal government which has been preparing for this moment in time for decades, until Trump was elected.

Justice Robert Jackson (you know who he was right, the lead prosecutor for the allies at the Nazi Nuremberg trials, and a US Supreme Court justice) I think said it best “in the time of a national emergency the Constitution is not a suicide pact.” He’s taking about common since, your arguments don’t contain any. Thanks carry on.

Ps. Cue the fuck you libbie retort :thumb:

I almost never care about actual candidates, but I'm very intrigued by political strategy, especially in the Twitter/online media age. Whether or not football is canceled/postponed, has the potential to sway elections if the narrative is managed well. Both sides should start planting seeds in this fertile field now.

A 2015 comprehensive compilation and analysis of multi-country studies of effectiveness of PPC's on pathogens, including virus particles, before this shit hit the fan, showed cloth masks are 97% ineffective at stopping spread and medical masks 44% ineffective. Cloth masks enhanced the risk of spreading some viruses (because they are reused, not thrown away). Wearing masks can make people feel good about themselves and put their guard down on other precautions which do work. the latest studies show airborne transmissions account for about 1% of infections. Folks, if you wash your hands, don;t touch your face, and don't touch others or surfaces they touch you won't get this. The results of opening schools in Europe have shown this is true. Take your own precautions and you won't get sick.

do you have a link to the analysis? because the literature i've read otherwise says that masks do help stop the spread of the virus. i'd like to read this comprehensive compilation and analysis. thanks!

I'm no medical doctor, but one of them sleeps in my bed (most nights). She diagnoses COVID every single day, has given multiple lectures on the topic, and has been working her shapely ass off for the last five months. She says I should wear a mask, so I do. I trust her more than Twitter. I will admit it's more for domestic convenience than due to any science into which I can't and won't look.

I read about that happening in Portland by Homeland security spooks snatching suspected anti-fa fellas in Portland. Do you think the reports are really true, could something like that really happen against American citizens on American soil. Wonder of they rendition them back to their home states after enhanced interrogation techniques extract information used to protect the homeland. Trump swore to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, at least I think he swore to do something like that, but the corona virus, not so much, we are all on or own you bunch of whinny anti federalists pussies. You all want Trump to wipe your damn noses for you too. It’s a states rights individual liberty issue people and it would be unconstitutional for Trump to interfere in a sovereign state’s affairs. Remember when FDR left it to the governors of California, Oregon and Washington, to plan their own costal defense strategies after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Well its like exactly the same thing here, it not that hard people. MAGA :thumb:

So CDA, what are you thinking some Tanqueray and 400mg of HCQ, or maybe Patrón a lime and some crushed HCQ? Please remember the immortal words of Jeff Spicoli, one must craft their buzz. You stay on a strict two week regiment of HCQ, and leave that poser B-Nell in quarantine, I’m thinking you finally bush-slay that bitch Carole Baskin with a flop shot over the agua and a short birdie putt for the tournament win people. Wait, wait, wait for it........it’s in the hole, it’s in the hole. Well played my friend, very well played indeed,.....former greens keeper now the masters champion clap:

Ps. People on ludes shouldn’t drive, or post on egriz.
