Argh, the same can be said for many ny times and wapost opinions and articles too. Lots of fake news all over these days. Much of the mainstream media blew the coverage of Russian collision. Now they and some Dems are yelling constitutional crisis. I call BS to that. Many Dem controlled committees are overstepping
their bounds. Many of the Dem assertions won’tstand up in court, ultimately, is my view.
I am fine with Mueller, but he has made some mistakes and is drawing criticism for them. That’s okay. Both ways. Not a big deal.
I put the “racist” Chou article in that category too. I assume you don’t think Italians are in the mafia and Jews lend money at high rates.

i didn't think much of the chao article, other than it seemed like a lot of 'guilt by association' without much backing it. it sucks, because u.s. citizens, businesses, and politicians being infiltrated and influenced by chinese money is a serious problem, and there are plenty of accounts of this that bet buried on the back pages. take cnn for example. i think they are owned by time warner, and suck up to the ccp. i told my wife not to look at the newspapers today because images of the tianamen square massacre (30 years ago today) brings up painful memories, as it was really a china-wide protest, and crackdown. but, i said, cnn is probably safe - and it is, there is only a small story buried at the bottom of the web page. news my ass. curious to see if fox covers it, since it is the moment that defined modern china, especially today as the government there erases memory of the event, not to mention the freedoms of over a billion people.

note that um recently closed or is just closing their confucius center. i talked to a former president of the um chinese student association about it, and she was happy to see it closed. called it a ccp propaganda center.

is fox news even banned in china? almost all real news outlets are nowadays, including the wall street journal. i think cnn even just got banned, but that might have been for june 4th only.

The first Fox article above, which I found initially with a Google, was posted today. Not only did I open the article, I read it. Who cares if the article is 1st or 4th on Fox' page? It's the first article on Google. People like you, and me, don't often even go to Fox anyway.
Fox and most of its people have generally supported Trump's harder line on China.

Argh, its not just CNN, its the whole left wing press, including MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS and others, which have become propaganda outlets for anything anti-American, globalist, and one world government. I didn't know anything about Hong Kong until you mentioned it. Fox is negligent in its non-reporting on this story, without a doubt. I don't like fake news, no matter the source. Right now, Hong Kong looks like a lit fuse.

I love HK. Yes, of course, I agree that China should abide by its agreement in HK. I can see why HK residents don't like the proposed extradition law.
Obama was soft on China. Trump is tougher on China. Especially on trade and IP.
Someone told me that the conviction rate in HK is 99.3%.

You are the researcher who claims to have attended Cambridge. Go for it. I actually don't care what the conviction rate is in China or HK. I am more into Griz football stats, and the US economic, job and stock market stats.

you forgot facebook, youtube, and the like - the new "news" sources. as for fox, given their support for trump, etc, i would have thought they would have reported this story front and center. as for hong kong, i guess we'll see what happens. the reason people were wearing white at that protest was because wearing white symbolized mourning in chinese culture. they aren't protesting the extradition law, per se, but the loss of their way of life, their freedoms. hong kong is a part of china, though, so i really don't think a whole lot can be done, other than for businesses to move out. i think the much bigger flashpoint will be taiwan, if (when) china tries to take it back. the u.s. and other countries have promised to help protect them, but we'll see.
anyway, on of the few things i agree with trump on is china. will it cause some pain in the u.s. to decouple with them economically? sure, but it is worth it. we hold the upper hand by far, i hope we don't fuck it up with them.
