UM on the record on FCS and sustainablility

OK a North Dakota fan is posting on a sports message board that Montana is on record saying that the FCS is unsustainable? I have not seen that from UM? Is UM on record saying that?

Just curious. he does not seem like a troll but sure is convinced he is right?
 
UM is one of the schools that has made it clear, by statements and decisions, that FCS appears to be quite viable and the preferred choice of the foreseeable future. Of course, as things change, every program out to be keeping its eyes open and making its program stronger.
 
Yup, O'Day actually believes the FCS is sustainable, and believed in the Big Sky. That isn't to say Jim also didn't think Montana could be sustainable elsewhere, but there was NO BIGGER supporter of FCS football or anyone who worked as hard at it as Jim O'Day. He wasn't just UM's AD. He was one of the most respected and important admins within the FCS football community during his tenure.

From first hand conversations I know that Jim did a big turnabout from his earlier belief that UM was necessarily commited to life-everlasting in the FCS...
