It depends if you count today or not. I wouldn't so the 37 count is right. After all, if you're doing something tomorrow, you don't say you're doing it two days (e.g. you don't count today).

OK, I see.

The way I've been counting it is like this: I count backwards from the day of the game. So Saturday, August 29th would be 0 days, meaning the game happens that day. Friday, August 28th would be 1 day until kickoff, being you have one day before gameday. Thursday, August 27th would be 2 days until kickoff... Counting all the way back to today means that today is 37 days until kickoff.

Going by the university's countdown with today being 36 days, that would mean that on Thursday, August 27th the countdown would be at 1 day until kickoff, and then Friday August 28th would be 0 days until kickoff, which to me implies that kickoff is on Friday.

To me, it makes more sense to count today just because of the reason of when you get to that last day on Friday, August 27th, you have 1 more day to go before gameday.
