ESPN Sportscenter in Fargo this weekend

One of the posters above states that Missuola has better looking women than Fargo......wouldn't it stand to reason that Fargo-Moorhead with a population of around 250K would have more good looking women as compared to Missoula at around 69K?? Especially with over 30 thousand college students alone?? Not a real question, just think its stupid and childish when a someone says "Our women are better looking or our bars are better"

Not that I care, but if you're going to use Fargo's metro population, should you not also use Missoula's of approximately 150,000?

I agree, you would think that Fargo would have a larger ammount of good looking women than Missoula because of numbers alone...but thats just not the case...thats pretty much the exact point of why I made that point.....aka the women suck hahaha........

By your argument..Detroit should have more good looking women than Miami :D

McKinley was from AZ though correct? Thats a little different than pulling a recruit from MN or Wisconsin head to head.

This is a stupid argument, but couldn't the Griz just as easily say that NDSU has never gotten a recruit out of Spokane that the Griz have offered? I mean, the entire premise is just silly.

Absolutely you could! Its not an argument, just a response to the post about the Griz recruiting more in MN now.

This whole thread is stupid.

I am just going to go out on a whim here and say that NDSU's location, being located in a desolate wasteland but being very close to their primary recruiting base with no other D1 programs located in those states(Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska) has much more to do with their success than UM's location being located in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

I'm just thankful you are going to go out on a whim, and not on a limb. THAT could be very dangerous for a bison alum. :)

Annnnnd end thread here!!!!

i think quite a few of us have lived in nodak. Of nodak state's 12 nat'l championships most were D2 and I believe a couple of them came on one-game results against the Griz who had several juco players ruled ineligible by the ncaa. I lived in Fargo in '65-66 and covered the bizun as an AP sports writer (also on the World Series crew in Mpls< and Phil Jackson at UND) so I was there for NDSU's first unbeaten season with seniors who had a winless freshman year. There when the Mood quit to go to Montreal and one asst became the ad and Ron ehrhardt (sp) became head coach.

I personally would like to thank you for sending your coach who won 2 championships at Fargo and couldn't win squat at MSU -- I think he was there for 5 losses to UM.

recruiting? I do remember a Fargo rug store getting the best Sodak fast-pitch pitcher and player to move up from my dad's neighborhood in soo falls to lay rugs.

today's mo valley has a lot of fomer north central teams -- but not morningside.

Ho Hum, par for the course, we are used to the accolades & the spoils of our success.

61-4 in recent years, with 4 losses by a combined 38 points.

Should be great exposure for the GRIZ when they show the highlights from game #1 from an actual football facility in a beautiful city.

So, you're saying the smoke and haze disappeared during the game.........

Gotta love the UNDSU fans. We kiss their asses, tell them how great they are, compliment their almighty T-Buffs, willingly admit how much we fear playing them again...and still, here they are, on the Griz board, seeking affirmation.

I believe Ryan McKinley had an NDSU offer and chose the Griz. Good points though on the solid recruiting plan incorporated by North Dakota State. It is difficult to argue with their success.

I forgot about him. My mistake on that.
Didn't you guys offer Treshawn Favors?

Wow this thread was definitely ruined.

I like Missoula a lot (I have family there) and I love the scenery. It's a nice change from the great plains. People are classy, polite, and actually remind me a lot of people here in Fargo.

Fargo is a great place to live. Winters suck, as they do pretty much everywhere in the upper midwest, but I love our other seasons which are perfect. And western Minnesota is one of the best kept secrets out there. My lake home is something I would never ever give up. There's a reason Fargo-Moorhead is constantly on the national lists of best places to live, best places to start a business, and is one of the fastest growing cities in thr nation. It's a great community. Just because Fargo is great doesn't take away from other cities.

As far as recruiting goes. We recruit tough midwest kids. We don't want a bunch of soft warm weather kids who are too big of pussies to live through a winter. Besides they seem to get beat out by small town walk on farm kids with great work ethic anyways.

Man. Imagine if NDSU wasn't unfortunately located in Fargo.

Ever been to Norman Oklahoma? South Bend Indiana? Tuscaloosa Alabama? Shitholes. Being located in the most beautiful parts of this country equate very little to having a successful football program.

You guys talk a lot of shit about Fargo, but an extraordinarily small number of you guys have actually been there . Metro area is close to 250k people and there are around 30k college students between the three major campuses located in the FM area. The economy in that area is diversified and booming and there is an excellent nightlife scene. It is a very nice community. No mountains. Ya I get that . Also is the reason I don't want to live there. For the majority of athletes though, I think geography is an extremely small part of their decision process when it comes to picking a school.

NDSU hardly recruits in states like Texas and California for a reason. They don't want to live in ND. Has that held them back? 12 total National Championships since 1965 and the highest winning percentage of any college football program since that time. They focus close to 100% of their recruiting attention on ND, SD, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Those kids don't grow up in warm weather cities, cities on the ocean or in the mountains and don't really seem to care. I could make the argument that being located in Fargo is exactly why NDSU has the program they have . Located 2.5 hours from the Twin Cities, one of the prime recruiting areas for NDSU. Only one D1 school in Minnesota and they suck. Nebraska and Wisconsin- one 1 D1 school in each state. The other FCS schools we primarily recruit against are located in complete absolute dumps . Brookings SD. Cedar Falls Iowa. Grand Forks ND. Vermillion SD. Pretty much any city in the Missouri Valley is a dump.

Montana has started recruiting MN these past few years. A lot of the big name guys we have gotten the last few years have had Montana offers. If being located in paradise was that important to these kids, you think Montana would have stolen some of these players. Not a single Montana offer, who also had an NDSU offer, during these past few years have picked Montana over NDSU.
I still thank God I don't live there. football is a very small part of life and if I had to choose a team that wins a lot of NCs that is located in ND, vs living MT, then my choice is very simple. Yes I would like to see SC come to Missoula, but not at the expense of giving up what MT offers. And to make it even worse, you play in a fricken dome. You can have SC, I still think I won. That said, you guys have a great FB program.

Lake country is pretty nice. I'll give you that, Gabe.

But I would never move there from here in a million years. That's okay, to each his own. I know people who love it in Minnesota.
