Griz get game 1 win vs. ISU in 10 innings

Montana pitcher Allie Brock pitched 10 innings in Montana's 5-4 marathon win over ISU... the first game of three this weekend. The game lasted 3 1/2 hours. Montana 3B Grace Hardy got the game winning RBI with a double to center that scored Kelly Sweyer. Lot of ups & downs in this game. The Bengals committed 3 errors & stranded 12 runners. Montana got 10 hits and stranded 8. Kudos to Brock for toughing this one out (it was cold & windy). Montana's D was solid, especially a running catch in left by Elise Ontiveros that she turned into a double play by catching the runner off 2b. Brock had 7 strikeouts vs. 2 walks, but hit 5 batters. Four of Montana's 5 runs were unearned.
Congrats to Brock & the Griz. This team is battling.

Ontivreos is a legit gold glove like outfielder. She makes some terrific running and diving grabs. You either have that or you don’t….something you can’t really teach as it’s so much about instinct and anticipation
