Totally true. A Div 1 fcs player and a very rare d 2 has appeal to an fbs team for a recruiting miss.
Where does an fcs team plunk from
that appeals to an athlete, wanting a chance at some nil? Think fbs to fcs is really still the norm as prior years? No. Fbs will stay Fbs, if they can. Fcs is the new Fbs JUCO, if they have multiple years.
You want a multi year player? Most likely looking at d 2, 3 Juco, to keep them on the roster.
I will also add, prior to about 2015, there were very few defections I recall the Griz losing roster kids to an fbs. Definitely to another fcs, for academic reasons.
Proofs already in the puddin. We had a all star punter leave for Nebraska which followed Toure.
Sac rb leaving for AZ St when he was already a stud fcs. Fcs will become more of a watered down football because the portal has leveaged less emphasis on traditional recruiting for a kid in the program for four yrs.
Look at Kentucky basketball. Come play for us for a year and go.
Now you tell me, why any reasonable ranked football athletes, outside of the state of Montana that has no ties, is going to stick with the program for 4 yrs, when A, relevance is gone. B. We have no fair level NIL. C. BIG Teams name now come calling for a transfer because it's less risky over a possibly overrated high school kid
