Way to take what was said out of context. “Surprise” as he hasn’t been offered by the cats or griz yet, or another D1 program.

Kautzman is truly special and great. When he charts though he hasn’t been on the mark all the time. That isn’t a negative though. Others have been more accurate. For instance, when he charted in Billings last December he was well behind Capser for accuracy. I saw this during the special teams camp in Wa-Griz stadium this summer.

Also, as a high school coach for the last 11 years and take a particular interest in special teams, kicking deep matters only roughly 33% of the time. While 33% is accuracy and the rest is proper form and approach to the ball. Being able kick deep is not what most coaches want. Bobby Hauck likes his kickoff guys to drop it between the 2 yard line and 2 yards inside the end zone. Where and who he wants it kicked to is more important than deep kicks

High school kickoffs are from the 40. Kicking it 5 yards out of the end zone is 75 yards. Rorhback is in great company as Buschini, Capser and Gilman all do that now. If Rohrbach wants to compete he better be kicking it 5 yards outside the end zone anyway.

We work hard to manage expectations with our kickers and punters. We work closely with Schillinger and Green to know what years the Griz are bringing on a kicker and which ones they want a punter, or neither. We position our recruits around that and build their recruiting schedule around that. We do that with the Cats too.

As I said, I was at the specialist camp this summer as I brought 2 young k/p’s over. I never saw Rohrbach kick a 65 yard field goal. No one was close to that. I have only seen Capser and Kautzman do it and it was off a stick. Capser on Twitter on August 12th of last year and Kautzman this last summer sometime. The only time I have ever seen it by snap and hold was in Daylis Stadium when Bozeman High’s, Travis Dorsch, kicked a 63 yarder for the state record and one of the 10 longest field goal kicks in US history.

Lastly, all of Kautzman’s accolades were in AA football. Capser had all of those in class A football. It’s clear you know the Kautzman’s, but try not to discredit others before you have the facts.

You have no idea who I am.

Looks like you don't know the facts: Kautzman 75 yards

https://twitter.com/CaseyKautzman/status/1431441685477683201?s=20

And no shit they were in different AA and A class.

Charting? In camp??? You talking practice?
Çhrist, you sound like Allen Iverson.
Hahaha.. What matters is games sunshine!! I know their career game stats in real games, under pressure. And Kautzman blows Casper out of the water in Field Goal percentage and career long (Casper 42, Kautzman 51).

Sure Casper was phenomenal Xtra Point kicker. That's all. He suffered badly at Field Goals. Call me a meanie, but facts are facts.

Casper knows he needs to get stronger, he even said so. But he can pick far, just needs to get more accurate. He will have a great career. I am pulling for him.

Wow, you know how to type in MaxPreps.com. Good work 👏! Now go and investigate deeper. You don’t know sh$t! Yup, don’t know you and frankly I hope I never do. I do know an arm chair quarterback when I see what you write. So sad as you think you actually know more than the Griz coaches. You aren’t pulling for Capser as that is a full of crap comment, you are trying to throw a Hail Mary on eGriz for Kautzman. There are reasons for everything and there is a big reason why Rohrbach was offered. Hey, also, Capser is wearing the Griz uni. Again, you don’t know sh$t about field goals and you need to dig much deeper before you think you know anything about a current Griz. Kautzman is in high school a$$hole. You are the parent coaches absolutely hate, but it’s worse because you are a friend of
the family. Really sad! You want me to keep posting videos or Twitter?

Congratulations to Casey, 51 yards is a hell of a kick no matter the situation. Good for him and even more by getting his school record.

It’s always tough to qualify stats and probably no more difficult than the kicker position as it depends on opportunities allowed. If your team is scoring on most every drive a punter won’t get lots of reps so depending on what they do with just a few punts could really skew a stat. Same with all other kicks.

Where is Kautzman going?

2022 --->

11/13 FG
Long 51

Kautzman went 13 out of 17 on field goals. Rumor is he is going to go play for the cats as a PWO. Griz have Capser, Gilman and Rohrbach. Capser and Rohrbach are both great kickers. Watching Gilman warm up pregame this year has been very hit and miss. Rohrbach is a good punter too and Griz will need a backup for Buschini next year. Capser dislocated shoulder and took the redshirt this year after surgery, but have heard he is stronger than ever. Kautzman is very talented too and will succeed wherever he goes.

Patrick Rohrbach also set the longest in game field goal for Glacier at 51 yards in Butte early this year. Previous held by Brandon Purdy.
He has set several records I’m sure as he has played varsity all four years. He only avg one missed Pat each four years and was known as touchback Rohrbach at Glacier.

Any relation to Rohrbach from Great Falls I think. (cant remember his first name), played for the Cats for a couple of years and had to hang it up (concussions). he was a hell of a good wrestler in HS.

No connection that I’m aware of

This has been the most talk about kickers on this thread that I have seen in a long time. It’s awesome Montana has some good kickers but let’s remember the other Montana kids that play other positions!

Lots of interest in Kautzman, just returned from Sacramento State:

The Griz have Capser and Gilman - and Rohrbach will sign in December. Highly doubt roster spots are available for Kautzman as the extra year of eligibility is cutting into this graduation class like it did 2021 recruits. If Kautzman was going to be offered it probably would have happened by now. Let's stick to those that have committed and those that have been offered at this point. Watched Casey kick many times and we all know by the dozen's of posts on here he is very good, but Capser and Rohrbach are extremely good too.

The Griz desperately need offensive and defensive lineman to fill out this class. In my estimation, the only way Kautzman will be a Griz is if he walks on and that doesn't seem fair to him given his talent. Sometimes you get caught in a numbers game. Additional scholarship years due to Covid has forced Hauck's hands.

Zac Crews (Missoula Sentinel) - 6'4", 195 lbs. - TE/DE/OLB (Griz Verbal)

Proved during the AA High School football game that he is the best Athlete in the state.

Crews threw three touchdown passes and rushed for two more. On defense he was a presence with one sack. Blocked punt

And potentially the most racist.
