The Washington Redskins are seriously thinking about a name change after the CEO of Fedex and few others have quietly taken an interest in the matter. The list of some of names under considerations are

The red tails
The red clouds
The Braves
The warriors
The federals
and this one, no name just the “Washington football club”

I like the red tails, name used by the WW II Tuskegee airmen. Honors some African American war heros. Right on :thumb:

I brought groups of high school students to DC for a lot of years.The Tuskegee Airmen were receiving the Congressional Gold Medal from President Bush in 2007 and a group of them were staying in our hotel. A couple came over and chatted with the kids. Just awesome gentlemen. They led very distinguished lives after their amazing service records. I did see the movie a couple years ago. There was another movie about them just called The Tuskegee Airmen and was an HBO movie made probably 20 years ago with Cuba Gooding Jr and Laurence Fishburne. I actually thought that was a better movie.

I actually think this pandemic pales in comparison to what we, as a country, went through during the 60s and 70s and we all can agree it has not run its course. Fortunately, we have the very best minds, workforce and ingenuity to keep the greatest social experiment the world has ever seen going. That little bit of Assiniboine blood in my body knows the history behind all this and although I appreciate the Seminoles, Utes, and Chippewas granting various colleges the right to honor their tribes, as part Assiniboine I really don't care what the Sioux think. There are those who continually bitch about things, such as sports. Deep down, I'm glad some of these sports venues, movie theaters and Hollywood sets and concerts are shut down and losing their ass, especially Disney, ABC and that other wholely owned subsidiary of Disney, ESPN! I'm also really happy many of our Ivory Towers are getting a dose of reality and being forced out of their comfort zones. But that's just me.

Yes Dutch all of a sudden we are all racist. Isn't it interesting that all the ills of this world are because of those damn white guys! Either the decision has already been made and they are going to restock with the new name, or they are turning the screws on Synder to force his hand. Isn’t it amazing that capitalism (the Walton family are big trump donors) is driving the changes we are seeing. People do vote with pocket books I guess.
