I know this is the 2018 thread, but considering our lack of depth (and need) at CB, has there been any thought given to Kobey Eaton? I just rewatched some of his HUDL senior video and he shows a number of plays where he played CB in high school.

With his speed and length, if he can react and cover, he would seem to be a natural to try.

I hear Nash and Eaton will both attempt that transition. :thumb:

Are you hearing Eaton at safety or corner?

Nick Germer WR from Sentinel and son of OL coach Chad Germwr has announced he has received an offer from the Griz. Coach Stitt must have felt good enough about him because of the obvious connection to offer him.

Out of all the junior tape I've watched, Nick is the second best receiver recruit in the state with Gabe Sulser being first. Nick also will be a Top 10 Montana recruit for 2018. He's a stud.

I was really impressed....incredible blocking. He reminds me of Jamaal Jones with the way he runs and with the ball in his hands. Plus he's a coaches son....

If the Sentinel QB ever put a ball out in front of him he'd have scored 30 TD's. Every SINGLE pass seems like it was underthrown.

That's why Mitch is a WR for us!

With all due to the Germer's, WTF have you guys been doing to this poor kid? Father is a all-am center, and this kid looks & runs like a gazelle. Never mind.

Simply diabolical.

Are you using a similar strategy with the spuds & peaches? Honest question.

:thumb:

6'2" and 6'3". I'm excited for that aspect as well with those two.

I'm sure of Nash making the change. As for Eaton, a few people have mentioned him also. Unfortunately, the ones mentioning it are not as in the know. With the number of wrs, it surely makes sense.

How right you are - Kyle just tweeted that Dareon Nash is definitely moved to CB. Great move hopefully.

Montana has moved RS-frosh WR Dareon Nash to CB. Nash played both ways in high school at Charter Oak High #GrizFB

Im a little bummed about this one, he's a smooth route runner. Thought he reminded me a bit of Jamaal Jones. However he's a great athlete and has the size to potentially be a dominant corner. Checking out his twitter page and he looks like a great guy too....we're lucky to have him at whatever capacity!

Sam Akem and Toure are the real deal...

I see Horners role around the goalline/ redzone...

I believe some of the offensive difficulties experienced last season had to do with Stitt's devotion to the "roles" each of the receivers played. In year one, he adapted to what he had and used a guy like Roberts in place of the JLM role of this past season.

Imagine having four "burners" on the field @ once, every once in a while, just to shake things up. Getting separation was a huge problem @ times and some of it is strategy, some of it was ability to get it. Why not be a little less predictable as long as you have a perceived embarrassment of riches.

Who are the four "burners"?

Toure, Akem, JLM, Calhoun, Nagler, Corbin - take your pick. You also have a Taylor, Curran, Eaton to choose from. I think you could find four "burners" from this group and anyone else I may have missed off the top of my head.

I'll hang up now and wait for the T & F stats guys or the video speed analysis crowd to weigh in on how wrong I am.

Speaking for myself, I was just wondering who you considered "burners".

NFL combine was disappointed with Kooper Kupp's 4.62 and 4.66 40 yd sprint.

Kendrick Bourne, also had slow WR 40's, running 4.68 and 4.71.
