I actually know a recruit who still gets a lot of texts from Schillinger and also from Robby and the veteran players have also been reaching out to the incoming class mostly on twitter, and after they establish a relationship with a veteran, usually the recruit’s recruiting host and others, they mostly text and Snapchat. I think they are fine when it comes to social media. The old guys have all become adept at negotiating their way around the internet.
I am told that Bobby still gets a couple 2-3 hundred texts a day, and he has someone in the department help him try and answer all of them. They all actually had to evolve with it the past 10 years, I think you would be surprised. Bobby’s bringing SDSU media savvy to the Griz. They even have an IT guy who is a university employee, whose job was to indoctrinate the whole staff including Bobby on texting, emailing and archiving, Snapchat, twitter and Instagram and trying to make sure everyone has the same devices and apps and keep all the devices and apps running. Worth his weight in gold. I know that they do warn the fellas off fan message boards like this one.
