Calm Down

I was in school for the early Don Read years. I remember losing games that were worse losses than we had last weekend. Marvin Turk dropped a sure winning touchdown against Reno once. We were 1-5 and needed to block a field goal in Weber and win the rest just to finish 6-5 one year. Eastern came back from 18 down in the last 9 minutes and beat us at home, AT HOME! 7-4 was a great year. There were many years that we were not Elite under Don Read. I am grateful to him for lighting a fire that is now griz football, but there were some gut wrenching losses in those years.

Maybe it the memories of those years that allow me to be calm in these years. It is just a game and the season will play out how it is supposed to.

In 2004, UM scored 19 in the 4Q to lose 41-29 to SHSU. Of course, we had a great senior QB who hadn't quite hit his stride yet that year, so totally different.

Last year we scored 20 in the 4th quarter to lose 42-37 to EWU. And we scored 14 in the 4th to lose 42-35 to CCU.

True.

Match-ups? Is that the latest excuse? Do you think that Lou Sabin, Bill Belichick, or Don Read worry about match-ups? When you are an elite team, like we are (excuse me, WERE), you dictate the game, and let your opponent match up with you, not the other way around!
Who is Lou Sabin?

Who is Lou Sabin?
Combo of Nick Saban and Lou Holtz

Of course match-ups are important... or maybe watching film and coordinating game plans and preparation is just what bad teams do... haha

That is his real name. Louis Nicholas Sabin. He goes by Nick except to his closest friends.

I think this is how the character Monte calmed down after the call poly game:

I assume you are referring to his recent sex change operation....and is now known as Nicole?

Actually his name is Nicholas Lou Saban, and he is known as Nick. He is named for his father Nicholas Lou Saban Sr, son of Stanley Saban. Stanley Saban is actually the Uncle of Louis Henry Saban, another former coach (Patriots/Bills) that passed in 2009. And to add a little more confusion, Stanley's brother - and Louis Henry's father - was named Nick Saban

Haha! Nice.

Also, none are named "Sabin."

Is it up your butt?

If I told you that it was NOT up my butt, would you stop salivating and swallowing Viagra tabs?

Highly unlikely. I'm not giving up my hobbies for you. But seriously, is it up your butt?
